I still haven't found this year's first shed and God knows I deserve one with the amount of miles I've walked. I did find something really interesting today though. I was walking through a field and saw some orange plastic. Got to looking around and saw some other stuff lying on the ground. Got a little closer and saw some circuit boards and a battery with wires attached. Upon closer inspection I realized I had found a weather balloon. The NWS was kind enough to include a set of instructions with a waterproof envelope so it could be sent back.

    Here's a weather balloon link I found.

Here is whats left of the actual balloon

I don't think this will be reused :D

It's not that old. you should try to fix it, then attach it to a bunch of mickey mouse balloons and send it back up.

VA huh...I got another good one. Send it to me, and I will mail it to them. They would trip with the return address. Or send it to someone you know thats in another country, and have them do it. That would be great!

Pretty Wild Duc-a-roo. I wonder how many of those are still scattered over the U.S. without anyone knowing about them.

I agree, you should send it from a European address. :D

Man, the sheds haven't been too kind to you this year? How many hours have you walked, I gotta find out.

I really hope you find a good-un for all of the work you put in.

Thanks Dave. Yeah, that article I found stated there's only about 20 percent that are returned. I should get some type of reward for sending it back. :D I've lost track of the hours walked but I have been keeping up with the distance. So far I'm right at 25 miles without a single shed. I usually find at least one by now. I've found plenty of doe skulls, one BB skull, various other skulls, and no sheds. It is frustrating. I am going out early in the morning (hopefully before the ticks come out) and put in some time.

Rob...even though it may be that once in a lifetime find; I still want a shed, badly.

Tribal...that pic isn't the best but it is 2008.

That is a cool find. Not much left of it though.
