Some States like PA, you must apply for an antlerless permit. If you are a non resident it means you get the left-overs. (residents apply 2 weeks before we are allowed) If your WMU is sold out, which happens every year in the WMU our Camp is in, you either are s--- out of luck or have to apply in a WMU that you have to travel too and are not familiar with.

Some does are tougher to hunt than mature Bucks. No it does not water it down!

I am all for does in the contest. There is a good chance its all I'll have a shot at. i have never killed a mature buck. I hope that changes this year but if not, does AND the Ferg clause may allow me to contribute to my team. Some of us, including me, just don't have the same level of experience or the same skill sets, to say nothing of location. Does and the ferg clause make it easier for us less experience bowhunters to play with the big dogs.

Obviously, there are a lot of inferior hunters out there who can't bag a buck, and for those people, they should be allowed to check in a doe - just to pad their ego. You know, make them feel like they accomplished something important. Let them think they're "part of the team."

It's like a teeball league where everybody gets a trophy - even the 2nd string catcher.

I guess if you're into getting people involved, then let the wanna-bees check in their does.

If you're into having a big buck contest for the best of the best, then keep the does in the freezer and off the score sheet.

If I am on a team with anyone hunting a state with no doe tags or only one deer tag, they are more than welcome to come to my house & attempt to shoot a doe in one of my unlimited doe tag areas.

I'll take the hat, pad of paper and the butt-out tool.

BTW, I don't care about entering does in the contest. It doesn't affect my hunting at all.

Dubs, I like it for that reason two. A winning team is gonna have to shoot at least two or three does this year. I like the added opportunity to score.

Contests are for fun anyway so I'm cool with whatever the rules are. It's nice having the option to add a doe to the score, but if the rules were no does that is cool too.
