Do does water down archery contests or are they a welcome addition to you?

    Why or why not?

From a game management position is is good they are in the contest. It also helps put points on the board.

Not just that, but it allows people to put some points on the board without having to shoot an antered deer. Not everyone is going to harvest an antlered deer every year, so this at least gives some additional opportunity.

I don't think it waters down anything other than the egos of the teams that lose. :)

    I like it.

Mostly because most people have more opportunity at them than bucks. So it allows for more participation.

I guess it's ok to have doe's in the contest if you have a doe tag available to you

I can't understand why you would think that it would water down the contest ... like others have said, it opens up the field for more folks to "play" (help their team with points) ... and you can always shoot a doe to neutralize the "threat" from the opposition .... so I vote NO .. they do NOT water down the contest ... I believe they enhance it ...

Give a doe a point total and lets get them on board. Nothing big, but each contestant could enter 1 doe into the contest at like 20 points. I don't know about you guys, but unless you live in a mega populated area with a ton of does, the taking of a doe with a bow is a great accomplishment. It is not easy. I have been on the losing end of a mature doe on many occasion.

I am gonna kill a few each year anyhow, Might as well get some points out of it.

    Besides, they taste good too.

I'm not against it at all, but it would suck to be in a one deer state where you choose either a buck OR a doe.

Personally, I like having does in the contest. I think it adds another dimension to the contest... :D

I like a buck only contest. Doesn't bother me that does are allowed, though. It's all for fun anyway.

I believe it is good that does are in the contest. I know very well that in order to get a deer in my area you have to shoot whatever you see. So I say having does in the contest adds a whole other avenue to this contest.

I'm planning on shooting the first bi@tch that walks by my stand, so I might as well get points for her...

I will not shoot a doe if I am hunting by myself. I will not shoot a doe before I shoot a buck unless I specifically go out after a doe (not all that often). So basically, I don't doe hunt all that often. I did more a few years ago though.

I am not against having does in the contest, I am for it if you all enjoy it. I guess I just think of "big" buck contests when I think of archery contests. Old way of thinking I guess.

Again, I do doe hunt at times... Just not all that often.

So if a guy puts down a doe and an 80 inch buck, he will equal out to a 130 class buck? Seems kind of off kilter to me, so I suggest we lower the doe total to 20 points.

Why would it suck? This contest is just for fun right? I hope it doesn't affect the way anyone hunts...but maybe I'm wrong.

If it allows more members to put points on the board for their team, then I'm all for it. I would rather see a team score X number of points by only killing does than a bunch of zeroes. Just my opinion.

I haven't shot a doe in about 3 years. It doesn't matter to me if does are included in the contests or not. I always have numerous opportunities to harvest does, just passed them up the past couple years. I'm concentrating on shooting a bigger buck than my last 10 pointer. Just my choice.

I don't mind if does are included in a contest so much, I just wish it was EITHER/OR, not both.... Some of us can only shoot one deer.....
