Well, I have been in Brown County for 2 days and already messed up on over 300" of antler Yesterday I took my climber and was setting up my bowhook and rotated it to hang my bow and heard CREEEEEEEEEEK. Out of nowhere a Giant 180 class 12 takes off 70 yards from my stand and he was heading right for me! Wasn't paying attention and realized I need to be more cautious as the bucks down he are more weary than my bucks back home. This morning brought Thunderstorms and Lightning so I slept in and watched The Grind with my Foster Dog. After it let up I set up a new stand back higher on the ridge where I saw the buck and a few does last night. Got out to the stand around 2:30. At 3:10 I was fumbling with my Blackberry because a bunch of emails came through, appears there was a Blackberry server issue. While looking I hear crunch and 15 yards behind me and down the ridge is a massive 140 class 8 pointer. I slowly reach for my bow and he sees me 20 feet up and bolts 40 yards and walks up the other ridge. Two days in a row and caught with my pants down by two awesome deer. I have three more days to go so hopefully I'll connect, if I'm not too busy screwing up
What the hell are you doing up in a tree with your pants down? LOL That sucks buddy. Good luck and hope you can get one of them! Text me if you do! I hit the road tomorrow afternoon to meet up with Rob/PA and Dr. Andy!
At least you're seeing something, the only thing I've seen is a couple small bucks and my 2 and 4yr old playing around the house all damned day. I'll get out this weekend, and the weather is supposed to be breaking in our favor. Good Luck out there, and shoot 'em STRAIGHT!!!
yeah, at least your seeing something. I have been out everyday, mornings & evenings, nothing. Not even a branch breaking. Lots of sign. Occasional rub here & there, & trails. But I think that if you put down that blackberry & pick up your bow, it might turn out better for you.
I actually have to sit down. I become way too fidgety while standing, when I know nothing is in range. Sorry to hear about your luck man. Maybe a buck will be off guard too.
