I also highly doubt that the school is buying the condoms, I would guess they are provided by an organization like planned parenthood. Either way it is taxpayer funded.
I remember when I was in high school my aunt worked at Planned ParentHood at the time and she would give me these bags of condoms to give to my friends. So I would walk into football practice and just throw the bag on the table in the middle of the locker room and they would be gone in seconds. When the coaches found out they were fine with it. In their minds it was better for their players to at least be having protected sex instead of the "don't worry I'll pull out" method.
One of the most ignorant/arrogant posts I've seen in some time. Absolutely ridiculous thing to say. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
and before anyone starts talking about the good old days where this kind of stuff didn't happen, lets all remember that teen pregnancy rates are at a 40 year low right now
I typically bareshafted in highschool. And was damn lucky. Put the rubbers out. It will help more than it will hurt.
Why have you waited so long? Do you think she hasn't been noticing, learning, and forming opinions already? Raising a child involves indoctrinating them in the way you believe is right. Eventually, of course, they will reach the age where they will realize they have been indoctrinated, but will usually be mature enough to decide whether or not their parents were right.
Actually that may be the first time I've agreed with Sota. I believe the breakdown of the family structure is the cause of a lot of our kids troubles. I know it caused a lot of mine. And I can look at the differance between my kids who are being raised by my wife and I and my sister in laws kids who have two differant fathers and are being raised by her, her parents, day care and public schools and see the truth in his statement.
Was it out of choice? Lack of access to prophylactics? If your school gave out condoms would you have gotten on line to score some? Lol
Sota...you've not said things like this in a while bud. Not cool at all here. I'd at minimum rethink your delivery...this post drips of arrogance and profiling (not in a save lives from terrorism way). *Now I'll admit, yes a ton of academic failings, life failings and overall issues have been attributed and connected to broken, disfunctional or non-committed (to parenting) parents...but I'd stay away from the lumping all to one as you did.
How does providing condoms "enable" them to have sex? I have given birth to two daughters, so you can tell I know a little about sex.
Let's me do I ask my hypocrite mother and father who have sex every chance they get, have three kids and draw full of sex toys, but preach to me how I shouldn't have sex? Or pass by the nurses office and reach in a jar and grab a couple condoms no questions asked? Easy choice no...
I am a father of two teenage daughters. There are a lot of lazy parents these days looking to be friends with their children instead of willing to be a parent. When it comes to the health, future and reputation of my daughters I try to strive for the best case. I know I am not a popular opinion on this subject, but do not care.
