I have both the XD 40 and XD 45 w/tac lights and extended clips. I prefer the .45 over the .40, but both are great.

Just went to buy the LCP and discovered the dealer was out of them...said he'll get four in the morning and all four will sell by that evening. The next one they get in already has my name on it.

Here's some nice additional thoughts contained in a review by Gunblast.com. Though this review was about the LCP, they're applicable no matter what gun you end up with:

I would recommend GunHolsterPro.com. They offer all types of Beretta Holsters, Glock Holsters, Ruger Holsters, Smith & Wesson Holsters, Taurus Holsters. I'm sure you'll find something meeting your requirements.

Springfield Armory - Officer Model in a inside the belt. Or a Firestar .40 in a Blackhawk external. I am also carrying a Glock 19 in a Desantis inside the belt from time to time.

I am going more and more to the Glock since I realized I was not training/practicing enough with my SA's and was concerned in a high stress event I would not remember to do what I need to.

Hey, you are not alone. Wisconsin is insane also. It is possible however that we will get CC in the next year if some politicians can get off their butt.

Dang guys, thanks for the heads up on the LCP. I will have to check in on my serial number tonight to see if I need to send my LCP back in to get refitted. Thanks again. This little gun is easy to conceal and packs a decent punch.

Ever since, I started carrying my 460 performance center around, I have yet to see rhinos or T-rex's running thru my neighborhood. But its hard to keep my pants up with it on my belt.

My concealed carry weapon is a Kimber compact .45.

They are pricey but well worth it!

Daily carry is a Sig Sauer P220 (.45ACP). Backup is a full size Kimber Raptor II (1911 .45ACP). I prefer to carry and shoot one type of ammo. I prefer the Sig because it has a decocker and has no safety. Whereas the Kimber I'm not very comfortable carrying locked 'n cocked with the safety on.

I know a lot of people with Glocks and XD's. But, I don't like Glocks because of the strain it puts on my wrists and the XD has a high center of gravity compared to other pistols. It also has a very long trigger pull and reset.

I have a Taurus .38 that's great for a front pocket carry when I'm want to carry, but wasn't expecting to. I use an inside the waist cheapo holster and just drop in in my pocket.

When I know I am gonna carry I carry my latest (6 mo ago) toy. A Beretta .40 SubCompact. It's a lotta bang in a manageable size.

I haven't pulled the trigger (no pun intended) on a real good holster yet, I've been using an inside the waist neoprene one, but I am pretty sure I've settled on a crossbreed supertuck deluxe going forward.
