I've never had any sort of issue that would justify carrying anything other than my bow. There also aren't bears in my area. Might be a different story if I came across a bear in the woods.
Never felt the need. Wolves, moose, bear, coyotes... I see no need. Now if there were a pile of hunters around here, I'd be more likely to carry.
I carry a sidearm anytime I'm in the woods including when I'm archery hunting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It's illegal to carry during archery season?! Open or concealed? Sent from my SM-N920V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
It's also illegal to carry a firearm while it's archery season here in Michigan. Unless you are a CPL holder. I am and have been for many years so I carry everywhere I go. Even while bow hunting.
I stand corrected. We do carry and will continue to carry for our own protection during bow season. The key is for our own protection! Thanks for the clarification. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Absolutely man. I always have a pistol on me when I'm in the woods here in NEPA! But then again, I have one on me everywhere else too! Sent from my SM-N920V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Had a guy a few years back during rifle season level a 30.06 at my dad after he told dad he had written permission to hunt by owner and dad owns the farm. Dad felt bad at the hearing and told the justice not to press any criminal charges as he had a job and family. The guy lost his gun and his hunting privileges for 2 years. Either way it could have been a real bad situation. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
It depends what I am doing that day. I carry everywhere I go usually so if I am hunting I am not going to leave it in the vehicle its coming with me. If I am hunting our private property I will usually leave it in the farm house.
If someone points a gun at me they better damn we'll squeeze the trigger too because I will sure as hell squeeze mine.
I carry a pistol when I archery hunt. I try to have it on me at all times In the woods and out. You never know what could happen so you might as well be prepared. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
In Wisconsin it is perfectly legal to carry a firearm in the open in most area,s their are some exclusions such as courthouses and school zones etc---Now for those he men who never carry or see need to carry, come on by sometime help me drag a deer out from a mile deep with a pack of wolves following us I have !
10mm glock. Always. The biggest threat where I hunt is two legged. You never know. imho, better to be prepared.
I couldn't believe how many wolves killed dogs last year your way. Its getting pretty bad in Northern Mn for wolves too
I carry for coyotes because because arrows are getting pretty expensive. .22 mag unless in bear country. Some places riff raff is getting bad as well.
10 mm is my next purchase. May be next year though. Wife's p.o d at the amount of firearms purcheased lately. I've tried to explain its a buyer's market.
