My Norton is about to expire and I'm debating not renewing it. I currently run Spybot and Malware about once a week. But I assume I need an antivirus program that runs when I turn on the computer. I've heard AVG is a good protector for viruses but does it run all of the time like a Norton?

I've also heard its free! I'm having a hard time finding the free version as everywhere I click they want money. Does anyone have any experience at running JUST the free AVG to protect against a virus and if so is this all I would need?

On someone's recommendation, we downloaded Microsoft Security Essentials. It's free and we like it a lot. They update it just about every day.

go to new egg website and look at the ratings on anti virus software, there is good info there.

I run kaspersky anti-virus and a key scrambler program thru the mozilla firefox system and works very well. But i dont mind paying for it.with five family members and three of them being teenagers using this computer i cant be too safe.

"Anything free is worth saving up for"

also youtube and facebook are the most dangerous sites out there right now, most of the attacks on my system comes from these two
If your a facebook user do your home work and find out whats being done with your info,,, reset what info can be shared.
