Come home tonight and my laptop crashed. It's either a virus that's attacked the hard drive or the hard drive has took a dump. Either way, i'm heading to best buy, hhg, whereever tommorrow to get another one while this one is being repaired. I don't need much, internet surfing, download Itunes, the girls mainly play low graphics games and goo goo Justin Bieber pics/vids. Any suggestions that won't break the bank? Has to be a laptop as it goes from Mancave to living room to den to kitchen, you get the point.

    Budget?

My Vaio has been a good one. I think I paid $600 for it.

Dell has a couple on sale right now. I think its around 500 bucks you get a 15" laptop with 4gb ram and a 500gb hardrive. Im pretty sure it also has the intel i3 processor so its a pretty decent computer.

    HP...they are bullet proof.

I buy all the laptops and PC's for the Marine Corps, have used them in and out of some nasty places over the years. HP's have been the best of all the brands and I have used most of them.

I have an HP laptop and tablet -both get pretty regular abuse and both are holding up nicely.

budget is around $500 but I'd go higher if the quality warranted. I didn't realize HP's were that good hmmmmm. I'll be going in about 2 hours to purchase.

It seems your needs are very basic. I'm sure that $500 can get you what you want from a reputable dealer.
