Question for everyone. How often should you wax a string on a compound bow. And what are your preferences for brand of wax to use? Thank you.

Depends, I don't wax the string as much as I should but I would suggest often, every third or fourth time you shoot. The more you fire your bow the more you should maintain that string with wax.

I wax mine when it appears that it needs it, or it is feeling dried out to the touch. (Probably once a month on average. A bit more if I am shooting a lot.)

I use pure beeswax on my bowstring. I am also a beekeeper, so having beeswax on hand is not a problem for me.

Awesome thanks for the info. You have any thoughts on brand of wax? Or is wax just wax and its that simple?

My favorite is Atsko UV Killer Bow String Wax...Also have used String Snot, Allen Bow String Wax, Etc. They all get the job done.
