I have a PSE rally and just found a place to start shooting it and I am curious what sort of maintenance I should do on it to keep it in shape. waxing strings? oiling gears?

    Thanks.

(p.s I have a very similar post on a different forum but I misspelled a word on the thread name and I couldn't figure out how to change it so I posted a new one, I know, I am an FNG

Mainly keep it clean. Make sure nothing is loose on it. Check your limbs for cracks. Keep the strings waxed. If they start looking fuzzy, they need wax. Some say don't wax the serving(parts where string is wrapped around the bowstring), some say it won't hurt anything.

Are you referring to the cams as gears? From what I know, you don't wax or oil anything to do with the cams. Otherwise dirt will get trapped in there and cause abrasions and premature wear.

You will also want to check your arrows by bending them slightly every time before you shoot, if you are shooting carbons. Make sure they are not splitting at all, or they could shatter in your face.

Do some Google searches on anything specific you may want to know about.

Clean it when it get dirty or wet and wax the strings. Pretty easy. Check it for any defects and you should be good to go.
