Do you want opinions on JD or are you looking for someone with one for sale?

We looked through everything and looked at reviews online. We ended up with a 27hp 4wd Kubota with a loader on the front. Initial price and parts were significantly lower than John Deere. It has performed flawlessly for us, we bought with 900ish hours on it and now it's got close to 1500.

While I really like JD, and my dad has had good luck with out JD 990, I hear very little bad things about Kubota. It would certainly be a toss up for me if I were in the market. In fact, I'm in the market for a zero turn mower this winter, and I REALLY want a Kubota ZG222...price may inhibit that, but I'm not even considering JD.

We've had both a JD and a Kubota compact tractor. I can't remember the exact models but both were 4WD which was definitely nice, and they were both very reliable. We mainly used ours to shred down pasture, but in the future I'd like to get equipment to possibly start putting food plots in. I'll get the model numbers from my Dad and let you know.

I put 4000 hours on my last JD. A 5410. A lot of rough duty. It held up well and is probably still going somewhere. However the loaders on JD are inferior to Kubota. Just look at the connections and also operate the loaders on both brands. I tore up my JD loader. Bent it. Had to constantly replace gresse fittings because they would freeze up. And it was slow. I think Kubota makes a better machine.

I had a Yanmar which is the Japanese version of the john deere. Same engine just a different color and cheaper. My only advise is get a 4x4

I have a JD 790. Small 30 HP 4x4 tractor, perfect tractor. Made for making food plots and other small jobs, we have a 6.5 ft disc, 5 ft tiller box, 5 ft bush hog, and a 2 bottom plow for it. I use an ATV spreader for seeding and once I pick up a cultipacker we should be set.

Bought it with 290 hours on it, still had the UPCs on the tire treads and gave almost 1/2 the sticker price new. Only thing it's lacking is a front end loader, which we decided for our purposes we didnt need. Be prepared to give 2-3 K more for a front end loader on equivalent tractors.

I've got a Bobcat CT230. They are new into the compact tractor market, but in actuality, it is basically the same tractor as a Kioti, but with some improvements. Love it.
