...and? The Federal gov't can't make the State use their police to arrest the State's citizens. And the Feds do not have the resources to go after individual growers. Maybe large volume growers, but not Mr. Hipster who has 3 plants on his back patio.

I'll tell them the same thing I'll tell them concerning sex, alcohol, etc. Enjoy responsibly or be prepared to face the consequences of your actions if you do not.

    Why not legalize all drugs?

    And prostitution?

Prostitution is legal in some places. Legalizing all drugs, and putting that money into rehab facilities, could actually see the drug rate decline. Just because something is legal doesn't mean people are going to do it. Would you do heroin if it were legal? Crack? Any other illicit drug? I wouldn't.... but hey that's just me.

    I'm a libertarian. I don't oppose it.

However, I greatly dislike drugs and prostitution and don't believe the majority of Americans can handle true personal responsibility.

Also, coming from a family that was big into drug dealing, I know first hand that pot and other recreational drugs are not so benign. But neither are cigarettes and alcohol.

...and I don't drink, smoke or do drugs.

I concur on Americans can "handle it" line. The issue is will those activities put my family in harms way?

Why are you so un-American? Why do you agree with taking away freedoms?

I'm assuming you would be angry if the gov't made guns illegal, no? Who are you to choose what another man can do, and what he can't do with his own body or property?

Hooker it's not about taking away freedoms, but protecting my family.

Do you want your kids growing up next to a bunch of drug users?

Probably no more than my kids growing up next to some drunks.

    Or people from Ohio.

As long as they do it on their property, and it does not affect my family, or the surrounding area, then I would not care. If they can't do that, then yes, I would have a problem.

I think there is a misconception that just because people can, they will. I know a lot of people that don't drink or smoke cigarettes.

I feel like the anti legalize weed crowd is using the same arguments that the anti gun people use...always assuming the worst.

    exactly

I'm quite confident that if cocaine was legalized, that my preacher neighbor, nor the artist, would all of a sudden become cokeheads...

    ...well maybe the artist.
