I think habitual users won't equate to 60%, but I think 60% is very close to the percentage that have at some point. It may even be low.
I think your right. Still illegal on a federal level though... Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2
Daily users, 60% is high for the national average. Probably somewhere around 25%. But the percentage that have used at least once? It has to be at least 75%.
Great, so now we will have created another sub-culture that I can work my butt off to support. Heck ya, they can sit at home stoned and relax while the rest of us working stiffs support them. Makes perfect sense to me. At least they will get free healthcare.
No way this is anywhere close in my opinion. I dont live under a rock and can count on one hand the number of people that I know to use pot. At least in the midwest, I would say 10% for daily users would be high. (pun intended) I think the percentage that have used at least once would be much closer to 50%, and would suspect it to be even lower.
Since you're a fan of studies: http://www.drugabuse.gov/publications/drugfacts/marijuana Granted, this is a gov study, so probably way less reputable than a college one . Seems that 40% of 12th graders. I know a lot of people that never tried it until later in life. So I'd say 60% is closer, I do think 75% is probably a bit high.
I doubt much will change. Not many people will suddenly start using, it's just the users won't have to fear being arrested by state police anymore. That said, I bet Washington and Colorado gain a few electoral votes over the next decade.
It has already been created, decades ago. If pot became legal nationally it would not necessarily create more smokers it would just allow the ones already at it to do it legally.
You pro weed guys do know these posts can and will be used against you by your children and grandchildren should you ever try to tell them not to smoke weed or do any other illegal drug in the future. Just an FYI. As you were saying.
Gee, thanks. What is there to hide? I'm not saying you should smoke weed now, or do illegal things. I don't even smoke weed. I just don't think it should be illegal. I'm an awful parent.
...its still illegal at a federal level. That supercedes any state law. Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2
You have to wonder if our country had spent all the money used in the "drug war" on education and rehabilitation how much of a drug problem we would even have. But hey, the "drug war" enriched a lot of the right people and spurred a lot of political donations so it must be a good thing.
That government study seems to make it sound like a pretty ugly drug. A lot of potential for bad things to come from the use of marijuana. I have also heard that the margin for error on those 12th graders and younger is pretty high. Seems a lot of them think its "cool" to answer that they have experimented with drugs even when they have not. ??? I took a health class in college (read that as easy A) that had a section on drugs and I remember WAY back then that the government admitted the numbers could be skewed by a pretty large percentage when dealing with school age kids. Seems they tend to be anything but honest when taking surveys about many topics. I am sure there are far more users on each coast. I guess that is probably why I would prefer to be right here. I can only hope that the midwest continues to be thought of as the fly-over states.
