We have created a terrible environment in college football in regards to national signing day. We allow these young men to act so dang important and place them on such a high pedestal. It is EMBARASSING to see all the hoopla. Just sign the piece of paper, attend class and practice, then prove yourself on the field. Prior to that, just shut up and act normal. If I were a college coach I just couldn't do it in terms of recruiting these spoiled athletes these days. You basically have to promise them the moon to get them to sign.

Yeah, some of it is ridiculous.

But...I haven't done any work this morning because I've been following all of the recruiting sites.

So I guess I'm part of the problem.

Hooker, did you see how many kids changed schools at the last minute? It makes a mockery of the entire recruiting process.

Yeah, it's a shame how much of a game that recruiting has become, but the majority of recruits do stay committed with their original school, but you always have a few that like to cause drama and switch at the last minute that make recruiting look like a joke.

    Dude...

I'm sorry for LSU taking JC Copleand from y'all...

I guess it's a mild payback for the entire Janzen Jackson fiasco last year.

I eat this stuff up. I love recruiting and the intensity and suspense leading up to and including National Signing Day.

You've got to remember, while some of these kids purposely toy with certain schools, they are 18-19 year old KIDS that are subject to change their minds at any minute. Give them a little break, let them enjoy their recruitment, once they get on the field the recruiting process means nothing.

You all monitoring who is getting recruited is different than all the bullcrap press conferences with highschool athletes.

Yeah but we are the ones that are giving them the attention, thus swelling their egos enough so that they believe they are important enough to hold press conferences to announce their college decisions.

It just gets old to see all the players lining up at a table with 5 different college hats...then playing games by holding a hat up then choosing another. In fact it is laughable.

Exactly. We the fans spend too much time salivating over youtube clips and reading message boards and forums and subscribing to sites like Rivals and Scouts. Recruits read those sites and the feedback fans give them (granted probably not Bowhunting.com ;) ) and like Hooker said, their egos balloon out of control giving them this sense of importance.

What Dooley did to not only salvage, but add to Tennessee's class this year was amazing. Snatching Da'Rick Rodgers from Georgia was a steal and they've added two more strong prospects this morning as well.

    Who needs Lane Kiffin?

As for the Gators? Well... let's just say we cleaned up :)

Florida and Texas have amazing recruit classes this year.

By far the top 2 classes.

GAB, how do you feel about Ambles following Kiffen to USC?

    Glad or disappointed?

I should be a TEXAS fan, instead of a Texas A&M fan :(

Most from Knox were predicting Ambles would go to USC so it was expected. Also with the addition of Hunter and Rogers it makes it easier to take. However Stanley (LB) running to USC hurts a little.
