Usually the Universities that you apply to will offer you scholarships of their own.

Your state probably has some type of scholarship fund as well. In LA, it's called TOPS.

Of course, you can also find some other types of scholarships. I know my local Mason chapter gave me the "Honesty and Integrity" scholarship. I have absolutely no idea how I got it, but I took it.

Do an online search for local scholarships, there should be a lot. Last year I got one from the orthodontist, and the Farm Bereau. The college has some that you just have to fill out one application and it applies for all college-wide scholarships.

My school had an application process through which you can apply and have a chance to win scholarships from local companies and organizations. Check into that and see if there are any local ones. Also, you can see if your local NWTF or Whitetails Unlimited chapters are offering scholarships. I won one through one of the local scholarships as well as the NWTF organization. As stated previously, the college you go to will have a list of scholarships you can apply for, but they're much harder to get.

I got a full ride through the Financial Aid Department at my University for an Academic Scholarship. Kentucky has a state program based on HS GPA as well, which pays out like $2500/year for 4 years (if you got a 4.0).

Opportunities are out there, just have to be willing to work for them.

Numero UNO place to start as said above, is at the university of choice.

Like others have said, there are plenty of opportunities out there.

I got my free ride from my university on an "Academic Excellence" Scholorship (for some reason). The only catch is, I have to keep a 3.0 throughout college to keep it. As long as I keep a B average, I can keep "learning" as long as I want!

Your financial aid office will have lots of options. Also, ask your high school counselor. That is who helped me get all my local scholorship.
