Well he said he wasn't ready for that level yet so like I said, unless he is back-tracking or someone talked him out of it he already said he was likely going back to OSU without actually saying it.
You can still be drafted and not be ready. So Miller is definitely gone now. Does OSU lose Torrance Gibson as well?
Happy to see him stay. I do not think many people in his position would have stayed in school. Why would they lose Gibson? He has stated he wants to redshirt his freshman year. If he leaves it won't be because of Cardale. Next year is Cardale's last year of eligibility. JT has 3 years of eligibility left. Besides that Joe Burrow is a better quarterback than Gibson.
Miller hasn't said anything about leaving. I would expect him to start next year, then Jones the following year, then Barrett after Jones. Declaring for the NFL one year at a time. You heard it here first.
Why not? Jones is a red shirt sophomore, Barrett is a freshman and has to at least play another season. So Miller would complete his 4 years (excluding being hurt this year), Jones would play as a Junior and then declare, and Barrett would play as a Junior then declare. Sounds crazy but all 3 of them were confident that they would all be back. EDIT: Also, there's no guarantee Barrett will even be completely rehabed for next year anyway, he has a plate in his ankle and may or may not even be ready for spring practices. It's a very good possibility.
Im surprised that he stayed. He'd be better off leaving Meyer's system now, sitting on an NFL bench learning behind an experienced QB.
3 top of the line QBs will NOT stay to sit behind each other at the same program with similar amounts of eligibility left. Just doesn't work that way. Miller is the most likely to leave after seeing two guys succeed at a high level in his absence this year. I'd like to see LSU or Oregon (because I hate FSU and those are the 3 programs continually mentioned in rumors). I do agree Cardale made the right call. A higher round QB pick is easily discarded of in the NFL. Play his way into the 1st or 2nd round and the $$ not only goes way up, so does his job security.
You can't say that all 3 won't stay there because you simply don't know. What if Miller changes positions to prepare for the NFL at a position that he might be better off playing as a professional? Miller will still be rehabbing in the spring anyway, so I'm not sure what school would want a senior transfer who may not even play for them. So if he plays at all, I believe it will be OSU. It's simple really. If Cardale says his education will take him 10x further than his football ability then he may plan to finish all 4 years of school which would give him time to play still along with Barrett starting after Jones. Barrett has also said he is returning to OSU but he too is still rehabbing an injury which may go well into spring practices. OSU has an amazing program and coach, maybe they all want to play for Meyer and they love the school, there's nothing wrong with that. It's not the typical situation, sure, but you can't say that there's no chance of it. 2 of the 3 are injured and they are in staggered years of their college careers, it's quite possible.
Yeah, in 2012. I'm going off his more recent comments that he wants an education and that it would take him further than his football ability. He and Urban Meyer talking about his past and immaturity was featured before the championship game. Meyer is big on keeping the guys in school and graduating. Look at Miller for example, he's in his 5th year and he wants to do post graduate stuff.
He is working toward a degree to be a financial adviser. It's not like he is taking general studies or something.
I'm just kidding, I don't like to rub people's nose in the mess. Honestly it was a long shot for me to even say they would all come back, I am a tiny bit surprised but very happy about it.
