    I like Chism personally.

I did NOT agree with that 3 at the end, but he is capable of knocking that shot down. He does on a regular basis. They only needed a point, I would have loved for him to take it to the rim. He had a few seconds.

Tennessee is a LOT better this year than they were last year too. Scotty Hopson is starting to play really well, along with Chism. Bobby Maze is solid.

I'm calling Tennessee beating Kentucky at LEAST one time this year. Thompson Bowling can be a tough place to play ;)

I was at the Tennessee-Florida game, Lofton's senior year, which I guess was 2 years ago now, and Tennessee blew them out by almost 20. Florida won the national championship that year ;)

Yeah Lofton was a freak, and Hopson is coming along nicely. Cal and Pearl have the perfect arena to really set up their rivalry nicely.

Both teams have improved a lot since last year. Im hopin for a similar series to last year, but realistically I expect a 1-1 with Both UF and UT.

3 teams in the Top 10 are in the SEC East. should be interesting conference play this year.

I still miss Lofton, even if he was just a shooter. This is my favorite shot of his, maybe my favorite shot by ANYONE. I still get chill bumps!

The dude had RANGE, I loved watching him.

    Some other AWESOME shots.

Who would have thought the SEC would turn into a powerhouse basketball conference? I didn't.

Tennessee has both baskteball programs in the top 10 right now. If only football would make their come back.

I see a heated Tennessee-Kentucky rivalry for many years to come.

It will be a tough year for the Tar Heels! Losing an NBA team to the draft lol. That's ok though. It will take a year to rebuild and start contending again. A lot of young talent on that team. Maybe they can make a push to the Elite 8 but I don't see it going farther than that (if that far). Hey.. still National Champions all year!!!1

The tough part the Heels looking forward to next year is that while they are loaded with young talent, Ed Davis and maybe Henson are likely gone after this year.

Hopefully Will Graves will start playing up to his potential (Hubert Davis said he could be an all acc performer) and start showing off that pure stroke and they'll find some consistent PG play. If the 1-2 positions can fall into place the interior game ought to get them at least semi-deep in the tournament.

Deon Thompson, however, is softer than a Big 12 defense on the football field

My thoughts exactly. They will remain young next year and possibly lose even more key players. They pick up a freak of nature with the basketball in Harrison Barnes, but it's hard for me to believe one man can lead a team very far as a freshman (as weird as it sounds with the Wall UK situation).

UK faces the same problem, only luckily this appears to be a strong year for them. We lose 3 seniors (one is a role player, two are no factor at all), Patrick Patterson, and John Wall for sure....thats two potential First team all americans, which you just can't replace. Throw in Demarcus Cousins as one who is potentially gone next year as well, and the Cats will be back to average again. Even with these 6 players gone the team will be leaps and bounds ahead of last years team, but they really need some solid recruits to rebuild again. Realistically they need/want to net another big, a pg, and a scoring threat to round out the roster....and then wait for the ridiculous talent available in the 2011 class. Michael Gilchrist was rated as the best HS player regardless of class last year, thats saying something and hes UKs to lose at this point.

I know its early still but, I'm somewhat surprised that no team has stood out to date as a dominant force yet. Even the big teams are struggling against average at best opponents. Should all change over the next month as teams hit their winter breaks and really get in some solid practices.
