I hate seeing Tebow for player of the decade! He's good, but I don't think he's that good. I wish they had a spot for most exciting player of the decade. I think that award would definitely go to Reggie Bush. Although his transition into the NFL has been kind of slow, but is progressing, he was definitely exciting to watch. I still go to youtube every now and then and watch some of his highlight reels.

I think that Urban Meyer for coach of the year though is a decent decision.

I have to agree with all the decisions. Being a Gator fan, I obviously love seeing Tebow as the player of the decade, I think it is well deserved. I'll admit that seeing Urban as the coach of the decade surprised me but after giving it some thought I think it was the right decision.

I thought you could have made the argument that Florida was the team of the decade, but USC completely dominated the Pac-10 year in and year out.

And I was glad to see the '01 Miami team as the team of the decade, they were sick nasty dude, hehe :)

I agree with Tebow as player... but meyer as coach of the decade? No way... Nick Saban should be the Coach of the Decade.

Lets not forget, he has brought TWO different teams to the BCS Championship game in eight years... Two teams... eight years... two BCS championship games (remember that two season run for the Miami Dolphins...)

I agree with that. Well put.

I hate Tebow. I think he's the biggest drama queen ever to enter the SEC. It's not only because I'm a dawgs fan but because of his over dramatic demeanor(sp). I've never disliked watching someone play as much as him. I hope he tries that hero run the ball offense every other play in the NFL, he'll get his head knocked off. We've seen this before with Mike Vick in Atlanta. Only thing is, Vick actually had tallent.

I know a lot of you guys think otherwise and you have that right. I just can't explain it, I can't stand the guy.

Meyer, on the other hand, is a genious. He has great recruiting(sp) classes year in and year out. Pete Carroll would have to be a close second. But then again, if you're a great player and have narrowed your selections down to let's say USC, Notre Dame or Florida. Where you gonna go? Where it's freezing cold or to the beach with hot chicks and great weather most of the year.

Wait...are you saying that Tebow does not have talent? Seriously? I can understand not liking the guy, because I don't like the guy as well (I think he is horribly fake), but denying the kid's talent is just absurd.

I also have no problem with Meyer as the coach of the decade, but I can see the case for Carroll as well. Those 2 are a toss up for me.

I really don't have that much of a problem with any of the choices.

I would have to put Texas-USC as the best game, and the hook and ladder TD from Boise State - Oklahoma as the best play.

I actually agree with both of these

I have always thought the the hook and ladder play was far better than the statue of liberty play.

Watching the hook and ladder play live on TV was one of the 3-4 times i actually got goosebumps during a game. I seriously never wanted somebody to score so badly. That was the first and only Boise State game i ever watched, but man was it sweet.

Yep, agree!! That hook and ladder play was awesome. That also was the only Boise State game I have ever watched, glad I didn't miss It.

    +1

As far as Tebow, definitely have to give him player of the decade. What he's done on the field has transcended the position of QB and what he's done off the field is even more remarkable. Hearing people say he's fake is just unbelievable, while saying the right things may be easy enough, you can't fake mission trips, volunteer work, etc.

Meyer and Carrol probably are a toss up. USC, other than this year, has been so dominant regionally and nationally that its hard to make an argument against him. But, then on the other hand, its hard to argue Meyer's record and national championships. These two should probably just be co-winners :)

    Definitely agree with the USC-Texas.

And the hook and ladder play as well. Tebow's jump pass may have been the signature play of his career, UF and Gator Nation, but that Boise State play symbolized much, much more.

I guess I shouldn't have worded it like that but I just really don't like the guy. As you said, he's very fake and used car sales personish. I'll give him the ability for the running game, he's got that. Problem is, in the NFL he's going to get killed doing that. I really think his arm is very over rated tho. We've seen thigs like this too many times. Being a dawgs fan and as much as it pains me to admit it, Stafford also was very over rated.

Player of the decade should be someone who changes the whole dynamic of a team. Reggie Bush is a prime example of this. Knowshon Moreno could've been another example of this if he'd played a little longer.

My vote goes for Reggie Bush or Vince Young.

I'm still in agreement with Meyer tho.

How can you say he's fake given the mission trips, volunteering, motivational speaking, etc. that he does?

He doesn't just talk the talk he walks the walk as well.

No one can be that perfect. Everyone thought Tiger was perfect too.

It's just my opinion. Doesn't mean you have to share the same.
