@CToutdoorsman is, I believe. I shot my first deer with my roommate in college. I had hunted through middle school and high school but had never gotten a deer. I was more of a waterfowl hunter. My roommate's grandfather had some land so we went home for a weekend and we haphazardly stumbled across a few doe. I was able to hang it in his grandfather's barn and a friend of his family butchered it for me. The key to hunting in college (if you live there) is to find somewhere to keep you weapon(s) and somewhere you can process the deer, or have someone to do it for you. I'd assume it's much easier now the with social media. CT is a small state but there is a Facebook hunting group where people can get in contact with others and if I had that 10 years ago I'd be able to get in touch with someone who would let me hang a deer in their yard and I could have hunted more. The biggest thing for me might have been associated costs. I barely had the money to afford my license. All my gear I received from Christmas presents. I didn't take college very seriously. I was going to school for Fire Science, which in itself is a pretty easy major. I was lucky to get hired as a firefighter in my sophomore year. I went to community college for a bit but they discontinued the Fire program at that school. Fortunately, my wife is MUCH more accomplished than myself. She got a professor position at the college where we met so I'll be able to finish up my degree for free now.
I am a full time student and athlete at school playing lacrosse it's nice living an hour away so all my time hunting is on the weekend! Also major in environmental science! Sent from my iPod touch using Bowhunting.com Forums

I am a junior majoring in occupational safety and health. I balance a full school schedule, around 30 hours a week at work, as much hunting and scouting as I can and a beautiful woman to whom I've been with for 5 years next week. Not sure I'd be sane without treestand therapy. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I had been hunting as a collegiate student athlete for the past 5 years. Took an extra year to get the 4 year degree!! Now I'm in the real world Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yeah you could say that I suppose. I'm taking 4 AP courses and 1 honors course. Hoping to go to dental school eventually but that's just the dream at this point.
Luckily this semester of college I can focus on hunting and running cross country with easier classes this Fall. Next year will be tougher since I start the nursing program. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Last year I got 2 or 3 sits a week with 14 credits and 30 hours a week. My major isn't the most difficult and theres usually a class or two that isn't imperative that I am in attendance. I have 16 credits this year and am just working on bows and arrow building by myself not retail store anymore so I have flexible work.. I have a few buddies with houses here to process deer but my parents live just a 45 min away so its not an issue really.
I'm studying for my masters in mechanical engineering right now and working 24 hours a week at my internship. I will mainly be a weekend warrior as I have been my whole life. College and high school football have always made weekday hunting pretty much impossible so I don't know any different lol. I also recently got engaged so the schedule is jam packed right now. My time and energy gets pulled a lot of different ways but they are all great positives impacting my current and future life. Finding a way to make my own work schedule is gonna be a goal of mine moving forward that's for sure. One day I'll be able to catch that mid week cold front during the rut!
