I used to get cold feet and just kept cramming more socks on. But I do so much better with one pair of smart wool socks cuz you gotta have that dead air space.
Boot blankets are the best thing I've found to keep my feet 100% warm during extreme temps. They are big and bulky and a bit of a pain to carry in, not to mention they make you look like Bigfoot. But overall they work great. This way your feet don't sweat walking in wearing multiple layers of big bulky socks. Works great for me.
I can't stand cold feet. I wear a pair of LaCrosse Alpha burley's, 1500 grams thinsulate. I put on a pair of normal crew socks, stick a toas -t - toe under my toes and then a pair of thick wool socks. I can sit all day in the cold without issue. If it is extremely cold I will put a second set on top of my toes as well. I've tried the stick on sole inserts as well, but didn't like them at all. They don't last as long and when they are working they make your feet really sweat because it isn't focused on only your toes. Once they die off its instant cold. The toe warmers have a little different mixture than the hand warmers due to a lower oxygen level inside the boots.
