that split G3 is almost identical to the buck I shot this year. Cool looking buck, at least you know what happened sort of.
Man what a bummer but at least you have him now. I would find an extra cape and shoulder mount him. Cool looking buck!
That sucks. I hate to see any deer that's shot and not found. But...how do you know he was shot with a gun? Or even shot at all?
Hey, you found him at least, for whatever reason...you were supposed to have that deer. I'd hang him on the wall just for the story alone.
Sorry you didn't get your buck. I just found out one of the bucks on my hit list was killed by a car last week. It's almost like a loss in the family when something like this happens. Lol
PT if you do not know for sure that someone else shot him or there is any evidence left to tell the story and you know you nicked him you cant for sure say that you did not kill him.
Didn't someone on here go all CSI on a rather far gone carcass within the past few years? Pretty sure it was here, but can't remember the reason they did the autopsy/investigation. Someone is bound to remember the culprit if so. Still find it rather strange that that buck still came to be in your possession. Pretty cool when I think about it, do a cool euro mount with it, as the time goes by you can always transfer the antlers to a shoulder mount if so desired. We don't exactly use sterile equipment in our quest, it will never be known but that deer could very well have fallen by your arrow. He still looked to have decent body mass though, so doesn't look as if he was in bad shape for a long time.
Keep in mind, guys that it was close to a month ago that I nicked him.... I saw him 2 weeks later at 20 yards looking fine...
