Spock said it best Star Trek II The Wrath of Khan

I have no ego to bruise.

When a thread is closed due to verbal abuse or harsh language or the gatherers get of script. It's left up to the moderator to bring about control or order. I would like to believe all levels of conversations have a way of burning themselves out.

People will loose interest and go to the next topic of choice. In any case any dialog can only make us better as a community and not as an individual. For the most part I like this blog of like minded people whom is willing to share their thoughts, ideals, stories, and experiences. It's through that this blog was formed not out of fear of it not working.

So lets continue to set our differences and backgrounds to the way side and keep it going. Because if the fear of a thread getting out control and closing a thread or blocking people to silence them is the answer then this blog was never a solution to opened minded people like myself.

    Thank you

    The Amateur

First, Hooker is posting pictures of his bathroom, and now we have people openly admitting they are Star Trek fans? What is this forum coming to?

Funny you should mention that.......(inside joke)

I don't think being open minded has anything to do with closing thread if the level of "talk" has escalated to a point of personal attacks or abuse. Calling someone names or the like has nothing to do with being open minded, although I agree most of the time it burn itself out, but not always.

This forum has rules that need to be followed. If they are not we take appropriate actions.

First of all, I have no idea what you just said. Apparently Fletch didn't either.

Its obvious we've closed in on the off season and tempers are starting to flare a bit. I absolutely hate closing threads, but it must be done when members here can't agree to disagree with each other in a civil way.

Name calling, personal attacks and acting like a total D-Bag will get threads closed. If it persists, a warning will be handed out. I've handed out very few warnings around here and hopefully it stays that way, but I have no problem doing so.

In other words, act like the adults you are and not like my son's 4K class.

Just don't go CNN....Ask a question get a response, don't like the response then you're banned. people bump heads all the time. I can take an insult or I don't believe you comment as-well.

What did Superman say in the Never ending battle. That which makes me weak only makes me stronger.

Far as Star Trek hell yea! I believe in the future things will only get better.

Now only if I had a Transporter.

Besides the occasional Spammer, in the 3.5 years this place has been open, only one person has ever been banned. I don't think you have to worry about that.

This "blog" excuse me, forum, was full of respectable, upstanding individuals with the exception of Vito anyways when I joined and in that less than a year I have seen some real pieces of work come and go. Not sure if they did due to being banned or just leaving but, I am glad they are gone. Individuals have a right to free speech as long as it is not violating another's rights. Calling names and being rude is violating another's rights and I am personally glad to see we have moderators that care enough to shut a thread down. They let it go on for a while until it starts getting ugly. Think about this also, in our country an individual has the right to sue the pants off anyone they would like to. This includes companies that have forums such as this. Bowhunting.com is part of a business therefore the business must protect its self and all the people involved. I believe the guys who run this site do a great job. Thats why I am still here and haven't found another forum to be a member of.

I am a little lost with the references from star trek and such, but the thread that was closed last night by Dan was an instant classic IMO.

The only reason you're still here is because I haven't banned you yet. You may be #2 in the history of the site. :ninja::p

It was definitely an interesting thread. I'm a little ashamed that I let him get to me like he did. I just can stand the trying to rub stuff in and the whole " I'M better than you thing". I too applaud Dan for shutting it down before it escalated any further. I don't think any of us are here to fight with each other. I know I'm here to learn and to make some friends in the hunting community. I have learned so much since I joined on here and I have got some great advise from some great guys on here.

I am only upset when a thread is closed before I get my chance to say something stupid and rude.

I waited as long as I could for you, before closing it, but your old *** must have been sleeping in the recliner while watching the news.
