I was very close at releasing an arrow on a buck this morning. I have not shot a buck in 4 seasons and this was the first one I have had in bow range that I've wanted to shoot in that time period. It was a tall 7pt with his right G3 broken off. I watched him come out of a doe bedding area about 70 yards away and he walked directly to me the whole way. I could not draw until he turned to go behind me at 5 yards and by then it was too late. Tried calling to him after he got about 30 yards away He would stop and look, but eventually headed towards another doe bedding area about 100 yards away. So close.
