In all honesty, I would have probably let my arrow fly if the bear came up that close to me. You never know what the bear is thinking. That's just me...
WOW, thats crazy!!! Similar thing happened to me last year! First black bear I have ever arrowed came in and climbed the ladder stand I was in and smelled my boots and climbed back down. What a rush my heart was racing out of my chest, finally pulled it together to draw back lol Bear hunting is quite the experience!
To close for my comfort... I don't know if I would have been capable of keeping my calm as he did.... Wow <+>< Ps 46: 1 ><+>
Had that happen on a bear hunt up in Manitoba a few years ago. Pretty cool having the cub climb up and take a look at the dork in the tree!
Super sketchy! This is pretty much the only reason I can think of as to why it should be legal to carry a pistol while bow hunting! I'm not so sure letting an arrow fly would do much as hes 5 feet below you hanging on your tree.. haha
He must have been just checking out the view from the stand...and to say "hello"...OMG. In early October, had a mom and 'triplets' come in to where I was at. I was in the process of climbing down. I was about 6' off the ground. Momma bear sniffed my bow that was on the ground. Meaning that she was directly below me. I was a little nervous...lol.
Common it is. I've had 4 different bear crawl my tree and sniff my stand/boots/leg. I'd rather not have it happen but it is what it is. Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk
This one didn't climb my tree but he put his front paws on it and looked at me. I had another one come up to my tree and pull on my safety line.
Very cool video! My 6 year old daughter watched it with me. She then says dad I hope that happens the next time I go bear hunting with you. lol! That's my girl!
The first thing I noticed when I got in my stand on the first night was all the claw marks in the tree. They went all the way up past the stand. At that point I figured that if they want up they will get up so I didn't worry much about it. I tried to pat the little guy on the head, that would have been good footage!
Yep. I always look for claw marks now on our stand tree's after we throw a stand up. I'm a little more careful now on how clean my hands are when I do put a stand up. Now if I put a stand up at a bait I'll put the stand up 1st and then rebait the bait after I'm done with putting stand up. I've noticed allot less activity on the stand tree now. lol! I saw that. That was awesome!!
