With bow season just around the corner I have been getting prepped. Last year I found a few things about my stand that need some attention. How have you modified your stand??

Mine has tape all over it. :D
Duct tape, fuzzy camo tape..... Mostly to hide flaking paint but also to break up the outline. It looks like crap up close but hides pretty good in a tree.

I'm also going to get some better shoulder straps. The original ones have twisted into shoulder biting ropes instead of straps. I'm thinking of getting M.O.L.L.E. type straps.

I purchased some tree stand silencing material thru www.stealthoutdoors.com to make it a little quieter. It seems to have worked awesome upon my inital climb with it.

I've been tweaking a new Lone Wolf Wide SC this summer, getting is just right for this year.

So far, I've added the footrest kit and dumped the ridiculous stock seat that comes on them. Replaced it with a Hazmore Silent Seat. I also zip tied my strapper retriever to the side of the top section. Perfect...

I'll probably find more things to tweak as I start hunting out of it, but so far, its been pretty decent based on back yard use.

good stuff, I thought I was the only one doing this stuff. Even though I can only use one climber at a time, I am still always looking for more on Craigslist and looking for hang-on stands and climbing sticks. Don't know why, I love my climber

I attached an older picture but I installed a quiver bracket so that my arrows are handy. Last year I painted it with some camp paint to blend in a little better, added new chain/straps and also have camo bags on the top piece to hold stuff I would normally have in my backpack since I can't wear it while walking in.

Bought an extra quickee receiver, marked the two holes and drilled with a tiny drill bit and then screwed in with the metal screws that come with. Took all of 5-10 minutes to complete.

I have a Lone Wolf handclimber. I mounted an API bowholder on the left side of the platform since I have a parallel limb bow and the built in holder from the old stands (Mine is a 2006 model) doesn't work with Parallel limb bows. Also, I have the treelimb quiver/LW quiver mount on the other side. Custom paint, just spray paint, Getting a new Gorilla seat cushion to replace current one. Have a small piece of shock/cord or small black bungee cord on the stand that allows me to cinch a jacket on the back of the stand as I walk in. Finally, just added two small black gear ties by Nitze. Simple aluminum covered in rubber that twists. It allows me to twist on my stand and make two little hooks to hold gear such as call, rangefinder, etc. I hunt with very few gadgets but still like the idea. You hardly notice they are there.

bought the foot rest for my summit, my legs are just a little too long to sit comfortably with the summit platform, hopefully the foot rest will help.

I have to do a little welding on mine. A couple of the welds are showing signs of stress so a little beefing up is in order. While I'm at it a simple raised footrest is getting attached to the platform. After that a new paint job and padding and up a tree I'll go.
My stand is some inexpensive unknown climber but actually works well and sits quite comfortable.

Just a note. These signs of stress by no means look as if the stand will break on me. I'm just concerned that they will cause a creak or some other sound while moving around.

The seat in my Summit Viper is unbearable. Got it new last year, any tips other than bring a couch pillow?

Seems like a few people added the footrest, I was debating on ordering it yesterday with my new Summit climber, guess I should put the order in

I put a summit seat on my Ol'man climber. I'm in the process of figuring out a footrest for it. I was going to add the qwikee quiver holder but switched back to my alpine quiver and keep it on the bow.

Check out ALICE pack straps, You definitely want the hip/waist strap. Takes some of the weight off your back and puts some on your hips. I've saw some at an Army/navy surplus store and should have bought them, havent found any as nice since. They are plentiful on ebay of course.

Was talking to a buddy of mine about this subject and he heard you can fill your stand with expandable foam (Great Stuff) and it helps with any unwanted TING! sounds. Awesome idea. I might try that!

If you do that, dont get the foam for doors and windows. It doesnt expand as much and would add some weight.
