Alright well i think i've made my decision, im going to my local hunting supply store tomorrow to see what they have to offer. And if i don't find what im looking for ill be ordering the Ol' Man alumalite CTS that Iowa Bowhunter pointed out earlier.
I'd be truly surprised if at the end of the season you said you were unhappy with this purchase. Good luck.
I have a Summit Cobra XLS (same as the viper minus the the bar around the front) I will sell you for $75. Other than some of the paint chipping off it is in great working order. I wasn't planning on selling it, but you are a good guy and if it would help you out to save some coin I will let it go to you.
http://www.facebook.com/#!/TrophyWhitetails?v=app_141993562498367&ref=ts what do you all think of this one? 14lbs...
I bought a Loggy Bayou Mega Transformer a few years back, weighs 20 lbs and I liked that it can fold up flat. Just checked LB's website and they don't make climbers any more, what's up with that.
Same here, im a 200 lb'er and the Viper would be fine, but the Goliath has a slightly bigger seat. I believe the platform is the same as the Goliath. I have had the Ole man original also and its very comfy, but sticks a little to high up when packing around.
Before buying a climber, borrow one from someone and give it a try. They are not for everyone. I bought a Summit Viper 2 years ago, and returned it after about a month. I have since replaced it with a Lone Wolf stand and sticks. If for some reason I were to do buy another climber, then I would have to say that I would spend the extra cash for the LW.
I understand this, i've giving the hang-on and sticks a try and trust me they aren't for me. So if i want a mobile set up im going to have to go with a climber. And hopefully im buying a used one so if i don't like it there won't be to much of a lose.
I really don't see how you could go wrong. Summit makes quality stands and I bet you'll see it as soon as you get it. Makes me feel good to see that "good folk" doing nice things for others. Tip of the hat to you Scott.
