What do you guys use to "scare away" deer when you want to climb out of your stand? Like if there are deer in your food plot when the sun goes down, how do you get out?

Wait them out at least til it's black.

Generally I end up waiting them out. If they are in my hunt plot then they usually don't stay too long. I have been stuck up there though for almost an hour after dark on some occasions. Just have to remember if you spook them coming down you are patterning them to where you are hunting. Never thought of a turkey call or rabbit squeal though.

Try blowing them off like you were a deer. They wont know why they are leaving except for the fact they believe another deer is warning them of danger.

Good idea, but if they don't know why they are leaving, wouldn't they not want to come back?

I hunt the woods, not fields, so this has never happened to me. Sounds like an annoying problem to have. Spend all that time away from your hunting spot to avoid pressuring the deer only to be forced to let them know where you are when leaving your stand.

If they don't see you or smell you there should not be a problem. Look at how fast deer come back to a field after being run off by a coyote.

I wait until dark and then I hoot like an owl and slap the side of my leg as I start to climb down.

Start climbing down quietly, break a tree spike, hit the ground like 220lbs of rock. They'll leave trust me I know.

If it's an evening hunt I usually toss a beer bottle at them:)
