I started shooting a bow when I was 17. It was a fiberglass longbow, 45#. Didn't have a clue about archery and couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. As years went by I bought a Browning recurve, maybe 50#, and still no clue. When I was about 26 I bought a second hand Bear Whitetail Hunter. Sights and the whole nine yards. I started to learn and even could keep the arrows in a big paper plate at 10Yards. I killed my first deer with that bow and the race was on. I bet over the next years I bought or traded 8-10 compound bows and was a fair shot out to 30 yards. I shot many a deer, nothing for the wall but you can't eat horns and any deer is a trophy in my book. In 2004 I had open heart surgery and I hung up shooting a bow. This fall I have been watching videos of shooting traditional archery, on paper and hunting. I want to give it a try again. Just target for now. A very low pound recurve and off the shelf, no sights. I have lots of questions so I come here to learn.
