I have a summit open shot. Love it for bow hunting. It lite weight and easy to use and quite. Do a search on here on how to use a molle pack for it. Padded shoulder straps and waist strap helps alot.

I've used my LW sit and climb for 14 years without a sngle issue other than replacing the sit rail bushings. I wore them out. I also put the XL belts on it. My stand is light weight and super quiet, I wouldn't use any other.

I've got a summit viper... I'm 6'5 and its not bad for a sit, just not much room for me but it's manageable and I get through it. One of the cons would be that it's pretty heavy compared to some other climbing stands. If you don't mind a little weight the price is good for these stands.

I had a Summit Bushmaster (early version of the Open Shot). I hunted out of that for years and it served me well. It was very comfortable and well built. I still have it but I haven't used it in years. I bought a Lone Wolf Hand climber and was blown away at how flat, quiet, and easy it was to pack. I then got a Sit and Climb top and I haven't looked back. Summit stands are noisy to assemble and pack up and they stick way off your back which makes them seem much heavier than they really are. Lone Wolf stands are low profile, a little lighter, and they set up and break down silently. The only downside of the Lone Wolf is that it isn't quite as comfortable. It is a very comfortable stand, but the Summit wins in the comfort category.

I like how the open shot has more freedom to move around but is it harder to climb with out the sit and climb rail. I've used a sit and climb LW before and I also was not fond of the seat. One of the main reasons I'm looking at summits

summit viper.. only thing I didn't like was the plastic foot pegs. I took them off and just put a rubber strap in the middle of the platform. other than that I love it!

Summit Viper is hands down the best climber if you like sitting for longer periods especially during the rut. It is heavier than say a Lone wolf climber but I think its worth the extra weight when packing in/out.

I have an XOP Strike Force hand climber. It's basically the same as a Lone Wolf hand climber. It's light and folds flat. The seat wasn't all the comfortable. So I upgraded to a Slumper seat for this season. I also added the Lone Wolf foot rests without issue. I also got the premium shoulder straps from XOP. So it should be more comfortable. I already had the Thirdhand Archery bow holder on it.

Actually funny you should say this I brought my Lone Wolf hand climber and my Summit Viper to work with me today. I weighed it on our scales and with the hunt comfort seat my hand climber was 19 pounds and my summit Viper was 21. I know the hand climber is easier to carry but I will carry an extra 2 pounds of weight for a lot more comfort.

I have three Summit Vipers and one Summit Viper Elite.

I don't care for the Viper Elite and I'll be getting rid of it. Still leaves me with three good climbers.

I've been trying to convince myself to move into a Lone Wolf hand climber from my Viper SD because I like the appeal of an open stand but the comfort is there with the Summit and I can't pull the trigger

I wouldn’t, every time I use my Lone wolf I run back home and grab the summit.

Ok Ill mix things up. I use an Ol Man climber. It has a net seat and there is a separate piece that attaches to the upper that can be turned upright for a gun rest or turned down for a foot rest while bow hunting.

I use a muddy woodsman climber. Not that expensive and pretty comfy. I’m a bit on the larger side but it fits me very comfortably. It’s a bit on the heavier side but it doesn’t really bother me all that much cuz like I said before, I’m not built like a little girl

I couldn't decide between the API Bowhunter and Summit Open Shot so I bought both, they were both the exact same price. I took the Summit back. I love my API Bowhunter. I don't like a front rail but the API had those rubber hand grips on the front. When I climb I don't grab those and do dips like in the gym, I put my arm pits on them and let my weight go and pull the platform up with my feet and so forth up the tree.

The platform has plenty of foot room too and comes with the footrest as well. Main thing is it has a comfy seat and I've sat many dark to dark sits in it and it's not very heavy. Bites a tree well too. It's dead silent too. Saturday when I shot a doe, they came out of the woods at my 1:00 and hung up at my 3:30 for a while then my 5:00 and I shot her at my 12:00. I had plenty of room to do all of my turning and twisting and never even though about foot position.

Last season I was weighing in the 240s and this year I weigh in the 190s and I was comfortable both weights.

I've owned 2 Summits. Don't remember the model because I didn't keep them that long, heavy and bulky. Still have a Ol Man Viper, don't use it much. Very comfortable, but a little unhandy to pack. Used a Loggy for years. Very solid stand but noisy climbing. Got a LW about 10 years ago. Not the most comfortable stand for a all day sit, but it's light, quiet, solid and packs great. It's been my go to stand for years. You'll just have to decide what's most important to you and find the stand that best fits your needs. Best of luck.
