I was wondering anyone had some recommendations for a good climber. Someone mentioned that the Tree Lounge is a good stand and is comfortable. I have been looking at the Bow Hunter model but am not sure if there are other climbers that have worked well for people. I'm looking for something that is quiet, light, and is quick to set up. I am open to any and all recommendations.

X3 It's light and rock solid on the tree. Can't go wrong in my opinion.

I have owned about five or six different brands of climbers. There are two that really stand out. If you are not much over 200lbs go with the Lone Wolf sit and climb. Nothing packs or climbs as easy as this stand. If you are over 200lbs go with the Summit Viper. It is very comfortable in all circumstances. It doesn't pack as easy as the LW but is a very solid stand. Another advantage for the Summit, about $100 cheaper. Hope this helps.

    Blessings.....Pastorjim

I've only handled a few. Had been using an API for a few years. Last year I bought an Ol Man. Very comfortable and solid. I opted for the regular over the alum, as I don't hike too far when I use it. It's been a great stand so far.

I have been using an Ol Man for the past 10 years or so and I have no complaints at all, but I am looking to purchase a new one here before too long and I may go with a Summit. From what I have seen and heard they are great stands.

If you are looking at the Summit Viper. Take a look at the often overlooked Summit Goliath. They essentially are the same stand except the seat is two inches wider on the the Goliath and only adds less than a pound for weight. I like the extra comfort of having a little bit more space IMO. Both are great stands that you can't go wrong with..

I use an older style O'l Man Climber for the last few season and very pleased with it's simplicity. The hunting group I hunt with all have various climbers, (Lone Wolf, Viper, Amacker, Guide Gear). Our ground hunter finally bought a stand that we all loved, its the Equalizer: https://www.equalizertreestands.com/index.php

The only issue we found was: The straps that hold your feet to base are elastic and do not hold your feet close/tight to base. Easy fix, just purchase the summit rapidclimb stirrups.

    Good luck on your search.

Summit Viper is what I use, but the Goliath is a good one as well. Either way I'll give another strong vote to Summit!

I've used a summit viper and really like that I also have a summit razor ss that I like it can be set open or with a gun bar up. The razor is nice but I'm a little guy and it has room but anyone over 200lbs would not like it even thought its one of summits bigger base climbers. With that said I've found much easier to use a lw stand and stick unless your in hill country and hunting in between to tall ridges and need to push the height to get above the line of sight between them

Living in SC where all of our native hardwoods have been cleared to plan pine trees a good climber is part of our everyday equipment. I've owned a LOT and so far the best I've found is the Equalizer. From it's construction to it's comfort, it's a great stand.

    Climbing Stands

    Check out this site: http://www.austintreestands.com/

I have used these and I love them. They are all steel. When you get up into a tree, it is just a solid as any ladder or hang on stand I have ever been in.

I have a Summit Viper SS and my biggest complaint is that when you are up in a tree they are not solid. Although they are lighter and quieter, they do not dig into the tree so to speak. During the rut you may sit a while and I have to stretch. If you stand up and accidentally bump the stand it will shift of drop to the bottom section. It if very comfortable as well.

I have never had this problem with my Viper. My experience is that it has always been a solid stand and never felt like it wasn't in the tree enough.
