we all know what a pain it is tracking a climber in and out of the woods each morning and night, my question is what do you all thing about a 4 padlock system that you can leave in the woods with out someone taking it? thoughts and opinions, keep in mind using a master lock is pointless due to the fact that they are easily matched with keys thoughts and opinions?

I use a 3/8th inch Python cable but even that wouldn't stop a thief. I also pile up some limbs and leafs on the stand to try and hide it some.

Good idea on camoflauge.. When I used to hunt in Florida, I used to cut some Palmfrons (long Palmetto shoots) and stick them in the stand making it look like a natural Palmetto.. Worked great, never lost a climber.. But they are not in every state.. Thank goodness !!!!

That would be the only real way to secure it.. I have a pair of bolt cutters that are so small, they would go in a backpack.. Not that I would ever take someone elses property, but one of these in a thief's possession would take care of any lock. The chain/cable can be the worlds toughest material, but it is only as strong as the lock holding it.. Just trying to help.. Some of the guys that hunt off of airboat's here usually take the stand down, go 20 yards and hide it in the center of a nasty, thick, thicket or pile.. This stops them from having to carry it all the way out of the woods.. Just a thought..

It really stinks that we have to lock these things up.. Wish we lived in a society where one man's property was safe and not to be taken by anyone else.. Guess my little dream world... LOL...

One of these days we will have small and affordable tracking chips to install on most of our hunting equipment.

I was also thinking of finding four pad locks that would fit where the pins go for that cables, other than that you can use could a cable lock. Also try to put both pieces of the climber as far down the base of the tree as you can it will help hide it.
