This is the season for improving my climber and climbing setups.

I clear and trim all trees at this time of the year - because I hate being in the woods come Summer.

What climber/climbing tips do you have?

    Mine:

1....Screw a tree step in JUST below the cable for the top portion of your stand. When standing, it'll keep it from falling down.

2....This time of year I climb into each of my stands, and mark the measurements for each portion of the stand.....Example would be Top Piece -3rd hole Bottom Piece-2nd hole. I then review this before I go to each set, to make it easier come ascending time.

I use a api grandslam bowhunter, i have a small piece of rope to tether the two togather while climbing so they can only get so far apart if you know what i mean. also i use a bungee around thee tree on the top climber section after i get set where i want so if i stand up and bump the seat/climber section it does not fall onto the lower section.
also found a nice bow rope that is flat and retractable reel type that i mounted to the climber seat section so i dont have a mess of rope in my pockets.

I use my climber a lot to set hang/on stands easy to work from, and i put steps in as i go down, it's a lot easier on my body afterwords.

hope this is some help to someone, be safe

I have a retractable strap and bow holder mounted on mine. I also camo it up with plastic leaves, tape, etc.
