I am looking into getting a climbing treestand for hunting some public land arround my house. I have always used a ladder stand so I don't have any clue what to get or what to look at or what a good price range would be.
    Thanks
    Cole

I have a Summit Titan. Easy to haul in, easy set up and very comfortable for extended stays. Just my 2 cents.

I have a Summit Viper that is great, 20#, comfortable, easy to set up and climb a tree, passed it on to my son and bought a Summit Razor, same features as the Viper bit once your up in the tree you can fold the climbing bar back so you have an open front stand, much better for bowhunting.

It depends on how long of a walk you're planning on taking and how long you plan on sitting. Shorter walks can mean you can get by with a heavier stand, but heavier stands are unpleasant to hike in with on long walks. Lighter stands, however, are good for longer walks but you sacrifice some comfort. Summit and Lone Wolf are both nice brands.

I really like the summit climbers, I think the cable system super simple to setup in the dark and they are super comfortable. I would suggest to make sure to get a newer aluminum one not one of the old steel one, IMO lighter the better especially for walks that are a decent distance .

I have the Guide Gear Extreme Deluxe climber. Pros: its sturdy and roomy. Cons: its heavy (30 lbs), noisy walking in and setting up, plus it takes a little time to set up.

I'll probably be getting a Lone Wolf soon. Anyone have any feedback regarding the Assault or the Alpha?

I have a lone wolf climber and alpha hang on. I havent used them hunting yet but practicing in the yard they both were very easy and simple to set up. Both are also silent and pack great i will add.
