So when I was out shooting today every time I would start to draw my bow I would hear a click. It sounds like it is coming from the bottom cam but I can't be sure. Any idea what it could be? I am gonna take it to my local bowshop tomorrow to see what he says.
what does the string look like on the cams? serving separated? Try letting down after you draw to see if it makes the sound on the way back
I had a used Hoyt Alpha-Max (great bow!) that made a popping/clicking noise when I drew it back. Took it to a Hoyt Dealer (Decker's Bows & More) and the owner knew right away what the problem was. Apparently there was some grit down in the cam/axle. They took it apart, cleaned it out, lubed it, and it was great after that.
Someone got me to look at they're element not that long ago and the way it was set up there was so much cam lean that the cable stop was making contact with the cable as it was starting in the draw cycle, it made a click as it did it. Also had it happen on my hoyt target bow. I had to switch the limbs around. Also had one that clicked because the limb pockets needed cleaning.
Well just got back from the shop. It looks like a bearing went bad. So he is gonna get it taken care of for me. I am glad this happened now and not when I was trying to draw on a deer.
