    do you mean cleaning like field dressing or cutting the elk up to be packed out?

    I'll probably still gut the elk if I'm fortunate enough to drop one. I figure it's best if I go about it like I would a deer instead of changing everything.

    Plus I'm gonna wanna check out its innards anyways :tu:

    This was meant to be more of a joke than a real question. I just thought the first video was funny.

    I'm going to try the gutless if we get one. Depending on where we are will depend if we leave it quartered or bone it out for pack out.

    Hadn't seen those videos. Interesting how he quarters it up all together. Watched the last caping video and a turkey walks by him while he is caping in the background. They must have some tame turkeys wherever he was at.

    We did the gutless method last time. Worked out really well, super easy and clean. The only real meat you miss out on is the inside of the ribs. Not much there anyways. Just a warning, some people don't like that method at all and really look down on people that do it, they think you are only taking the backstrap.
