Russell Wilson, Peyton Manning, Larry Fitzgerald, Drew Brees, Bart Starr...all good ones. I'm not a wrestling fan but John Cena has granted over 400 Make-A-Wish dreams come true so he has to be on the list somewhere.
Today was Hank Aaron's 40th anniversary of breaking the record while under several death threats. Through it all, he never complained and just did his job. Staubach, if memory serves, honored his commitment and served in the Navy instead of going straight into the pros. I don't ever remember Barry Sanders dancing in the end zone. When asked why he doesn't, his reply, "because I still have work to do."
You mean this Hank Aaron? Hank Aaron compares Republicans who oppose Obama to KKK - CBSSports.com He should change his nickname to Hammer 'n Sickle Hank. Agree w/ you on Barry, though. At least on the field.
A good friend of mine saw a young boy around 10 years old, alone by himself, walk up to Wayne Gretzsky in a hotel in Canada and ask for an autograph. He told the boy to go stand by the front door and wait. The little boy did and Gretzsky, not a minute later, went out the backdoor never looking the boy's way. Could have forgotten, but come on, it was a boy by himself.
If I had to pick just one I would say Derek Jeter. Not a single blip on his career both professionally or personally. Very rare air these days.
Pat Tillman, and as a Celtic fan I hate lebron James, but as a human being it is tough to find a reason to not like him.
My hero growing up was Cal Ripken Jr., truly a class act in my books. Muhhamed Ali did incredible things as did Andre Agassi. Roberto Clemente died while flying aid to a foreign country. Today's players I would say Russell Wilson and JJ Watt, love those two Badgers.
Well, take Hank Aaron off your lists. This guy is an idiot. Hank Aaron Compares Republicans That Oppose Obama To KKK « CBS Atlanta
Adreian Payne from Michigan State. If you get a chance read up on "Princess Lacey". A very touching, heartbreaking story. Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk
