Hey guys so I just got the No Cam HTx abd im a 27" dl and i shoot 70lbs. I shot through the chrono and hit 275 i didnt think that was to bad. I have no idea how much my arrows way, and wont be weighting arrows till I order my new ones next week to set those up. Do you think this is a good speed I know this bow is known as slow but I didnt get it for that I got it for hunting and casual turnoments.
why do you shoot a 300 spine arrow, i currently shoot a 350 is that the proper spine for this set up ?
I would guess it has to do with added weight on the front of the arrow. His arrow is 8.7 gpi so to get to 469gr he need some weight up front, and would want a stiffer spine for that thats why without knowing about your arrow we can't know how "good" your speed is etc
if you know the brand and model of your arrows its pretty easy to look it up online. If you know just post that here, as well as your arrow length, if you don't know your arrow length just post your draw length, should be able to ball park it off that
i shoot the black eagle deep impacts with the stock outsert not the stainless one and my DL is 27 inches I believe my arrow is somewhere around 26 ish or somewhere in there, also i shoot a 100 grain tip
I think your outsert is 40ish grains, that would put total arrow weight about 415-420? IMO a 415-420 grain arrow moving at 275 FPS is a decent littler deer killing combo
I have the stock outsert that I've drilled and tapped the back end of it so I could add another 28grns by cutting off at the coller a field point once in place I add locktite to make sure it doesn't rattle loose Dan
I'm shooting carbon express maxima blu rz's, I liked the light arrow so I could get good FOC by adding weight upfront we had to tap the inserts to get some weights to screw in because CX didn't have stock inserts that would work, so mine are all locktighted in as well
by littler deer killing combo do you mean smaller deer or just a term hahaha because ive killed a couple big deer with this set up it seemed to work okay
no i mean for deer hunting its fine, I didn't mean "little" just a turn a phrase. I wouldn't hesitate to hunt with your set up. my first bow that I hunted with was 295 IBO so gear it up for hunting and that arrow was not going anywhere near as fast as were talking here, I think it was around 250 fps and I still killed deer with it
