I am a begging archer/bow hunter and i was just making my x-mas list. I am 14. Some things I have on it right now are
    rangefinder
gift card to nearby proshop for arrows
    lighted nocks
    chonograph
    3-d deer target
    also hunting boots

my question is what other things would be good to get. I have almost all basics like scent free stuff and camoflauge

I would ask for a tree stand and climbing sticks. You can never have enough of those.

He's 14, and asking for suggestions on things to ask for christmas. Logically, a few in here have to suggest getting a job.. So much for growing the sport. sheesh

OP, I'd ask for some broadheads, because once you start slingin' arrows they can go quick. How about a nice safety harness? Maybe a blind, for turkey season? How about trail camera?

I agree....no need for some of the comments in here... Not sure why you would need a chronograph though, that's kind of a one and done deal for a while until you change your set up. Most archery ranges have them, I would just utilize theirs. I like what Jacob1 said about the stands....never too many. Trail cameras are a good one too.

The best "gift" overall is a good work ethic. Tools to get things done ( just like hunting) will take you places and give you the "things" you need. Remember there are a whole bunch of days that go by between "Opening Day" and gathering for 2014 takes planning....Plan.

It's not a "popular" gift until you need them. Then they're invaluable. Really good base layers.

Also, think about things that you can get, that'll keep you going in the sport. (Since you're young and may not have all of the funds you'd like, and don't want to pester your folks)

    Fletching jig.
Fletches...(Tell them what size you need)
    Good Safety Harness
    Lifeline
    Arrow saw?

Sure, you could just buy some Fletches that you can just shrink on, but what fun would that be.

Just ask for gift cards/money and get what you want.

There's a lot of crap products out there that are just a waste of money. Be specific if you're asking for hunting products.

    Rinehart 18-1 target
Couple of ladder stands. Bow friendly (IMO. At age 14 you shouldn't be using hang-ons)
Books-- Mapping Trophy Whitetails, Grow 'Em Right, and others.
Wicked tree saw or wicked extended tree saw.

Gift cards are good!! Remember Santa doesn't hunt so he might not get exactly what you want!!! How about some trail cams?

I would suggest a good pack. Something that will hang on a tree if in the stand to fit comfortably if you spot and stalk. Lots of great packs out there.

rangefinder (Not needed... stay in your 20-30 yard range)
gift card to nearby proshop for arrows (this is reasonable)
lighted nocks (useless but cool... for video... you shouldn't be watching your arrows after you release... keep aiming until you hear your arrow hit... IMO)
chronograph (Use the one at the Pro shop)
3-d deer target (Go with a Rhinehart 18-1)
also hunting boots(Always useful... Redhead Snake boots are light and are waterproof to your knees)

Don't forget some warm socks, underwear, gloves and a hat.

Santa does to hunt! He is just really, really slow and pulls 45 pounds from his oversized blind. Go get em Santa!

I'm really wanting the Trophy Ridge React sight, even though I won't ever take a 50yd shot I still love the sight and how after dialing it in at 20 & 30yds it automatically dials it in from 40,50,60 yds. And I want new Camo Bibs as well.
