What are you all having for Christmas meals?

I'm going with rib roast, Yorkshire pudding and most likely some sort of twice baked potato.

I go to my parents for Christmas.

I'm pretty pumped for breakfast over dinner. Breakfast will be a cinnamon roll french toast casserole.

My parents are a little nutty, they at first said they were not having Christmas because of unvaccinated grandkids, so I told my daughter we are having a dinner she probably will not be there as she is scheduled to give birth on the 20th. She did ask if her father in law, brother inlaw, and his wife and child could come, absolutely I said. Then my parents changed their mind....too late. I am going to cook up a roast and slice it and put it in juice. Some beer cheese soup. Not sure what else but I will figure it out.

If my wife has her way, a baked ham. I hate baked ham, most bland and unsatisfying cut of meat there is. If it is not bacon or sausage, pork isn't worth eating. Probably have fried okra, cornbread casserole, deviled eggs, and green bean casserole as sides.

I am trying to convince her to let me do a whole leg roast off the doe I killed in November. But, we had a roast from the deer for Thanksgiving, so...

Cinnamon rolls with an egg and sausage breakfast casserole in the morning. I a more excited about that than ham.

    Where did the wieners go?

I'll be honest, if there was anyone to post a wise crack to this thread, I did expect it to be you!

Back when I was in my late teens my dad and uncle would take me to a bar that simmered the good skin dogs. They reused the water but boiled it and skimmed it before doing so.

Those were the best damn dogs I have ever had.

Wishing that my dad, uncle and that bar were still around.

We used to go to the Coney Island hotdog place in Duluth after the bars closed. The place was filthy and disgusting, but damn their dogs were good.

Your baking it wrong. Most people just heat it up and slice it. Try slow roasting it. 250 for 10-12 hours. Until it falls apart like pulled pork. No slicing. Stab a chunk with your fork. Definitely not bland. In the smoker is even better. Double smoked.

And don't use a spiral cut ham. Would love to punch the guy that came up with this idea. All the fat and juices cook out of it. Waste of a good ham.

That is how they do it. Doesn’t matter, not a fan of baked ham, never have been.

Not planning on going anywhere this year. Might smoke a venison roast. Haven't done that in awhile. Not sure what sides.

This year I'll be off between Christmas and New Years day. So I wanted to fire up the smoker anyway. Need to make more summer sausage, polish and kielbasa. And about a dozen blocks of assorted cheeses.

the only time I ever eat Mac and Cheese is when I make it for my grandson, he loves venison hot dogs. My wife does not eat processed foods, pretty much means I can not eat processed foods.

I have to launder cash to buy fast food, sometimes I put it on the debit card and without fail as soon as it is posted I get the I thought we talked about this. I give her the no you talked about not me. I do have to admit McDonalds food sucks, holy sodium, once you kick it it never tastes the same.

I've shied away from most of it myself. Make a variety of things with my venison. But...every once in a while my inner 10 yr old makes me do it. For nostalgia sake. Lol.

My wife usually let's my kids choose what we're making for holiday meals. Is sucked when they were younger but now they're 20 and 18 its much better. My daughter asked for shrimp and crab for Christmas eve and my son asked for good filet for Christmas day.
