OK my brothers and sisters in Christ ..... what Christian book(s) have you read that you loved .... other than The Bible. Anyone ever read "The Shack" by William P Young? Incredible fiction read Also A.W. Tozier "Reclaiming Christianity" was a non-fiction must read ...
I read "The Shack" and I loved it...blew my mind that people (in fiction) could view God differently than I. Really opened my eyes in a good way! Could not put it down. Others?
I love anything by tozier. two I have read recently is "Radical" by David Platt it is really Eye Opening. and "Pilgrim's Progress" can't remember author but it is outstanding. oh one more I am currently reading is "I don't have enough Faith to be an Atheist" all excellent reads.
I haven't read these 6 books but, I hear they are good. The Author is my childhood pastors son. William (Bill) Isaacs. I hope to start on them soon. I guess I will go in order. Embracing Destiny (2002); intersection (2004); What Our Storms Teach Us (2006); Invited to the Deep End (2007); A Life Worth Living (2009); When Leaves Turned Under (co-authored with Kathy Isaacs 2010).
Jesus Brand Spirituality Doing Church Saving God's Green Earth Small Footprint, Big Handprint ... all non-fiction, all fantastic!
A Table in the Presence A very good friend/classmate and retired Marine is named in this book 4 times... he actually gave the book to me. Incredible read! http://www.amazon.com/Table-Presence-Dramatic-Battalion-Experienced/dp/0849918235
I honestly do not know. I just know I have heard some of them are good reads and know the family he came from. They are a God fearing family that have been called to spread his word. Everyone over the age of 18 in the family is in some form of the ministry whether it be filming services to being a pastor.
Thanks all! One of my favorite things to do dutlring.bad weather and no season is read ... I will be checking all these out ..... and if anyone hasn't read The Shack, read it ... it will blow your mind
A third vote for radical by David platt! Other favorites include the "way of the warrior" series by Graham Cooke. All 3 books are awesome, and are set up as an interactive journal, so you are growing and reflecting while reading. I also enjoy anything by max lucado, rc sproule, bill Johnson, and Jimmy evans.
Anything by Tim Keller. His stuff is mind blowing (non fiction) Also John Piper and David Platt Another good one is "Crazy Love" by Francis Chan.
The ultimate treasure hunt by kevin Dedmon, When Heaven invades Earth by Bill johnson, the dream Giver by bruce wilkinson, Another mans battle by Sam childers! All good books!
