I have some cheap walmart arrows that aren't very good and was looking to invest in better ones. I want some that are really good but won't cost me any more than $60-70. Im also trying to determine what length i need to get. The draw length on my bow is 29in and the draw weight is 50lbs. I have a whisker biscuit rest and im using Muzzy MX4 100gr. broadheads. Any advice?

What is your draw length wv? If you don't know take a tape measure and put it between your thumb and pointer fingers on your bow hand, then draw the tape measure back and where it hits the corner of your mouth is your draw length.

What is the weight of the Muzzy heads you are shooting and what is the make and model of your bow?

WV--first off, best of luck. Here is my suggestion. I would bet your bow needs arrows in the .400-.500 spine range, and they would need to be heavy. I am also thinking that your bow given the whisker biscuit, the 4 blade Muzzy's and 50#@ 29 inches would be moving in the 200-210 fps range...just a guess.

For the money and the weight I would consider going to aluminium. I would consider getting the Easton XX-75's(2117's spined at .400 and 12 gpi). Get them cut at 30 inches.

So. your total arrow weight would come out to around 480 grains which sounds about right coming out of your bow.

Others might have other opinions but that is mine...GOOD luck.

I really meant to run your numbers last night when I got home from work. Unfortunately I got busy helping a buddy of mine with his bow setup and it was just too late when I got home. I'll take a look when I get home today and get back with you.

But what VS has suggested sounds good, I'm just a numbers guy and always like to run them.

GA, I would like to see what the numbers say when you run them today. I am getting more into the tuning phase of arrows. If you can provide a breakdown of why you chose which arrow combo that would help me out as well.
