I hunt in some cold weather during late season and I would much rather have the right layers on to not only be able to stay on stand longer but to be able to execute the shot because I wasn't frozen than have the fanciest bow and accessories available.
High end bow gear, most of my deer have been killed in camo from Wal-Mart or in cold weather a pair of Schmidt coveralls from TSC Sent from my Galaxy S4 using Tapatalk 2
I chose clothing. Once I am cold I'm done. I need to be warm. Cheaper things aren't as effective in that department.
DITTO... comfortable [warm or cooling] clothing help a hunter to hunt longer and enjoy the elements. I choose clothing!
I have a very low tech gadget free bow compared to all of you so the clothing is an easy choice for me.
Practically speaking, I would have to go with good warm hunting clothes for end-of-season cold weather hunting. Aesthetically speaking, I would go with a high-end bow and accessories so I could run naked through the woods holding my prize possession (uh....the bow).
Can't shoot em if you can't stay out long enough to get a shot. And top of the line is debatable, doesn't mean its what all the "pros" are wearing or the most expensive. A good wool base and a bomb proof outer shell goes a long way. Recurves , 20 and 10 year old bows are still putting them down. Most gear can be overcome with skill, which is free with practice.
Assuming I am efficient with the bow that I was hunting with? I'd choose clothing. I put a LOT of hours on stand in all types of different elements. I like to have the right combination of layers for any hunt. Allows me to stay out longer and sit still.
