I got into the cholesterol thing pretty big a couple of years ago. My triglycerides were very high (genetic curse) and my good cholesterol was extremely low (also a genetic curse). And on top of that my blood pressure was like 140/90....bad bad bad situation. Outwardly I looked pretty good, but internally I was not doing too well. I changed a lot up and the only things that really positively effected my bp and cholesterol levels was working out, hard. Also, I started eating a lot more greens. In about 18 months my overall cholesterol numbers dropped by 150 points and my good cholesterol rose to nearly an average level after being terrible. I went in the other day for some medication for a torn back muscle and they did my bp and pulse and I was in a lot of pain (typically raises both)...125/75 and 62 for pulse. I read a lot about cholesterol and heart disease/heart attacks. For nearly every study that said high cholesterol levels raise the chance of a heart attack, there was a study that refuted those claims.
