There was a news report last night concerning this topic and they offered a phone/internet forum survey to discuss whether he should stay or go.

The report said he has like a 14/16 record since the National Championhip year.

I really like him but I do see signs that his staff is not respecting/responding well to his leadership.

The new DC was clearly heard using obscene language during the game (on TV). Most Auburn fans won't abide that for long.

Will he get one more year or is he finished?

I certainly hope he stays around for a long time. I think he has been great for Auburn's program :)

The next coach at Auburn is Bobby Petrino.

Funny... Let's see... their only other National Championship (which they shared) was 1957 (I think). 53 years is a long time to have to save up.

    Uhhh... no!

If he goes... which I am not in favor of. I am wishing Kirby Smart from Alabama would come... not very likely.

I think joker is gone and uk contacts bobby petrino, gene Chizik, and wille taggart from wku depending upon each ones availability. I'd love to have any of the 3 at this point tho all are longshots.

BP is not likely at UK, IMO. He'll have to leave the SEC to coach again. GC may leave Auburn, but I doubt it. UK just doesn't have the football recruiting power that it needs to compete consistently against UT, OSU, WV, VT and a few others that would draw a big name coach. Auburn is way better talent-wise than they are playing ... something seems to be going on that shouldn't be.

If I was Auburn or Kentucky, I'd be begging Bobby Petrino to be my coach. The man can coach. So he likes banging tall blondes on the side, who doesn't?

If Auburn boots Chizik, I'd be shocked if Petrino isn't their first call. Heck I've heard TN fans mention him as a possible replacement for Dooley if he gets axed after the season.

They may can him (GC) sooner to get the early jump on the teams that wait til after the season. I think his contract is up after the 2013 season? Looks like a bowl is highly unlikely this year.

Dooley took over a team with some serious issues. I can't imagine them getting rid of him yet. They seem to be getting better and have been competitive.

GC took over a loaded team and won with it and with a different coaching staff. (coordinators)

Tuberville was told to get a new staff or leave... he left.

GC may get that option as well... his previous coordinators moved on. So I wonder if GC was really calling the shots in 2010? If he is now... he's missing something because he has the talent to be undefeated right now.

Recruiting talent and the ability to develop talent are two very different things.

I totally agree. Dooley shouldn't be let go yet and they have improved from the dumpster fire he walked into. However some fans are morons and the rumblings have started.

I sincerely hope UT and Auburn retain their coaches for a few more seasons, just so UK has a much more legitimate shot at landing Petrino. One, as Hooker said the dude is one hell of a coach and program builder. Two, it would do nothing but infuriate Louisville fans even more than they already are over Calipari and the basketball success (Petrino being a former Louisville coach who left them in the middle of the night).

While I think it is a longshot, I can see some possibilities for it to work too. One, UK has long been looking for their savior to make the football program relevant. He could come in (still be in the SEC coaching), and build a program from literally nothing. UK also has pretty deep pockets to be able to offer him basically anything they want contract wise. Any success at all would rejuvenate the program and lead to possible renovations badly needed.

On the other hand, this is UK we are talking about and he would likely laugh at them if they called. They will forever and always be a bottom feeder for football. As sad as it is to say, I don't even see Willie Taggart leaving WKU for UK.

I was in Auburn yesterday and something is definitely abuzz about Chizik's future there. I am hearing Gus Malzahn's name being tossed around and am hearing Trooper Taylor may be the "loose cannon" in the coaching staff causing the dischord. Just rumors at this point.

From what I've heard about his time at UT this wouldn't surprise me.

From the Clemson game I posted about him intervening when Chizik was speaking to a player and how he didn't seem to know who the boss was.
