We have two 5 guys around here. I like the food, I just don't care for how everything is setup. All the waiting around and getting your food in a greasy paper bag and all.
Agreed! I used to work right next to a Chipotle, and that's what I ate 4 times a week for lunch. No wonder I couldn't lose any weight. Currently for me: 1) Chipotle 2) Zantigo 3) Wendy's 4) Sonic 5) Taco Bell (both places I typically go have had poor service and food hasn't been to level it once was)
Really? In & Out is widely considered the best fast food chain because of their use of fresh ingredients, but they are also only located in the western US, but they are beginning to expand, with locations in Texas now. Smashburger is all over the US, with many locations in Minnesota... Genghis Grill is a fast food fried rice place with locations all over the US, again in Minnesota as well... Freebirds seems to just be a Texas fast food chain, so I can see why y'all might have never heard of them.
similar to my complaint of 5guys, feels like you're in a noisy warehouse... put a 5 guys burger in a Culvers restaurant and you got a winnah!!!!
Where are you at in MN? There's a Smashburger in Woodbury near the old Sportsman's Warehouse location or in Roseville are the closest for me. http://www.smashburger.com/locations/Minneapolis/
I was just getting ready to say Whataburger. We have one right down the road from the plant and I hit it up at least twice a week. I'm also a big fan of Freebirds. Then I've alway got the old standbye......Chick-fil-a.
Hmmm, never heard of or seen a Chipotle, although I have been west a few times...... Top 5 Fast Food places: 1.Cookout (pretty much same as 5 guys, but in a drive through method with cheaper prices and more selection) 2.Taco Bell- I could eat it everyday 3.Chick-Fil-A- Got one on my campus, so I have a fond place for their chicken sandwhiches 4.Smithfields Chicken and BBQ- Good Carolina BBQ and Fried Chicken 5.Everything else is about the same to me
In & Out Smashburger Genghis Grill Freebirds Chipotle What are these places never even heard of them? Sonic....I have heard about but have never even seen one in person? 1. Taco Bell 2. Chick Fil-A(Best Chicken) 3. 5 Guys(definantely best burger) 4. Hardees 5. McDonalds
5 guys is the only fast food we have eaten in a lot of years. Great tasting burgers, lots of fries in a greasy bag. We order by phone, pick it up and bring it home. we do that once every couple of months. We do have pizza delivered once in a while. I guess that counts as fast food but it is a local place with just two stores.
Here you go NYBowhunter. Impress your wife. LOL The Chipoltes in Adobe sauce are sometimes hard to find but you have Wegmans and all that so it shouldn't be a problem. They make it. Chipotle Enchiladas 12 corn tortillas 3 boneless skinless chicken breast halves -- cooked and cubed (I don't worry about cubes... I just shred it) 9 oz reduced fat sharp cheddar cheese -- grated (I don't use the reduced fat) 3/4 c minced onion For the Sauce: 2 tbsps butter 2 tbsps flour 1 c beef broth 1 c water 1 tsp cumin 3 cloves garlic -- minced 1 tsp oregano 3 chipotle chilis canned in adobe -- seeded and minced 2 tbsps adobe sauce from can 2 tbsps low fat sour cream Melt the butter in a skillet. Stir in flour. Cook this roux until it is light brown. Remove pan from heat and slowly stir in broth. Place pan over medium heat and whisk in water. Add the spices, garlic, chilles, and adobe sauce. Simmer uncovered for 20 minutes. Whisk in sour cream. Heat some oil in a skillet. Lightly fry a corn tortilla to soften it. Place it on a plate and fill with 1T cheese, 1T onion, and 1T chicken. Roll and place in a 9" x 13" dish. Repeat 12 times. Cover the enchiladas with the chipotle sauce. Top with any remaining onions and cheese. I usually chop a little extra onion and grate a little extra cheese. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes, just until the sauce bubbles.
I guess it's pretty easy to see why the South is so much fatter than everywhere else... We have so much fast food. In a 1 mile stretch of road in my city, we have FatBurger, Smashburger, Whataburger, Cheeburger Cheeburger, Jack in the Box, McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's, Sonic, and Dairy Queen, with a 5 Guys to be coming soon. And that is only the burger fast food places...
West of the Cities In the sticks 70 miles. Next time I'm there which Isn't more then once a year I'll have to make a trip there.
In the end, all of these places are still fast food chains, so I don't know if any of them warrant special seeking out.
