    Guys - Comcast or Dish?

I don't need a home phone, but I need good internet speed and TV. I don't care about premium tv channels like HBO, but will want the outdoor channel etc.

    Your thoughts?

If I'm using Dish, what would you recommend for internet? FIOS isn't available at the house.

LMAO, that's funny! But I'll take Comcast. It costs more, but for uninterrupted service and fast internet, it's the only way to go!

From a LONG time Dish customer, go Comcast. Uninterrupted service, better DVR, On-Demand software, better TV/Internet bundles (Dish satellite internet...don't even go there). Customer service is pretty decent with DISH, and I've hear it's horrid with Comcast, so there is that:D If you can't get FIOS, next step down would be cable. I can only get DSL where I live an its atrocious, but not as bad as satellite internet. It's nearing the end of its life cycle imho.

Definitely take my advice with a big grain of salt. I last had Dish in 2005. My mom had Comcast (in Crook Co.) up until last year but the service was bad and super expensive. Her Comcast service wasn't all that dependable, it had issues. Her Dish seems better about the interruptions. I'm pretty sure she has her internet through Dish and it seems to be fine. It's not that I love Dish... but that I hate Comcast.

Now I have a little dish (from the huge company of NeboNet. lol) on my roof for internet and zero form of tv feed besides online streaming. The only television we have in this house is maybe a 12" combo tv/dvd player that we've never even plugged in. We are not very much into the boob tube. :D

So I bit the bullet and went with Comcast. I sell web based cloud software for a living, so if I have to work from home I need fast internet, DSL won't cut it.........I need a consistent 10-20mb connection. As much as I hate going with them if I'm using them for internet it doesn't make sense to use another cable providor.

Dish is the best bang for your buck. I left comcast several years ago after they raised their prices 3 times over a 6 month. Been with Dish ever since except for a two-month foray with DitectTV that required a letter to the Attorney General to get out of a rip off contract.

I believe Dish is more honest with their pricing policy.

Absolutely. Speed is a must, and DSL just doesn't have it.

DSL will be phased out with high speed wireless in the coming years imho.

Comcast has good internet... but that's it. I would go with Dish for tv, not sure about the internet though.

I did indeed get out of the contract. AG Lisa Madigan and Jessy White are the only Democrats I vote for. If they stiffed you too, shoot me a pm and I'll cut you a copy of the letter. DirectTV still sends me bs offers in the mail.
