Chicago gun buy back program funds a NRA Youth Shooting Camp. Heh heh. http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/20...-uses-chicago-buyback-send-kids-nra-gun-camp/ “If you were a criminal, there’s no way you’d go to one of these,” Betley said. “There were police everywhere, including detectives that were sizing up people as they came in. They knew what we were up to. Most of them didn’t care,” Betley noted, “but some of the younger detectives acted pissed off about it.” At the second location they visited, our members ran into what they all agreed was a tenacious, bordering on obnoxious detective. The detective hit our three guys up with a series of rapid-fire questions and pointed remarks. “Where in the hell did you dig these up? Out of a grave site?” the detective asked. “Who are you with? What’s your affiliation?” he continued. So much for that “no questions asked” policy. (See link for rest of story.) There was a predictable outcry among those who believe we should be disarmed subjects. Response to one such outcry: http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/20...life-handling-blowback-chicago-buyback-caper/ Makes me proud to guys like Boch.
I heard about this yesterday while driving home from dinner. Nothing makes me smile more than when the haters get taken for a ride
What a colossal waste of time for the Chicago police. How many illegal gun owners do you think will take the time to turn over their weapons, leaving them in the hands of criminals and Chicago’s finest urban dwellers? Well … glad you asked. Several years ago I actually acquired the services of a statistician from Georgia Tech to study just that. I asked him to determine just how many guns would have to be “bought back” in order to achieve a statistical certainty of having saved one life. The answer? More than 65,000 guns. The typical highly-publicized gun buy-back even nets, at the most, perhaps 400. It’s a scam. Politicians know it’s a scam. Cops on the beat know it’s a scam. The media knows it’s a scam. But anything goes for the cause of liberalism and the creation of a completely reliant society. Here are two examples where the right to bear arms is explicitly prohibited: Illinois and Washington DC. In Washington DC, violent crime is up 40% this year, which includes twice as many robberies at gunpoint than this time last year. And we’ve seen what’s been happening in Chicago, Illinois lately: “Barely six months into 2012, Chicago has already hosted 228 homicides this year; overseas in Afghanistan, the body count for US troops has reached a comparably meager 144. Matched up against other major cities, Chicago’s murder rate exceeds four-times what residents of New York have experienced this year.” posted by Neal Boortz
Just want to point out that, while we do not have the right to carry firearms (49 states can't be right, can they? ) the other 101 counties in Illinois (Cook - or Crook, if you prefer - being the exception) very much support our right to bear arms. If we could just amputate the City of Chicago, Illinois would be a much better place.
Can we just donate the city of Chicago to science and justice and turn it into a state prison....hmm didn't I suggest this already?
