This may be a dumb question or an interesting topic.. Either or... When sitting in the stand do you chew gum? I always bring a pack of gum mainly because I always have to be doing something. I seen that Todd Graff always chews gum too while hunting. But the more important question is what flavor? I don't know why but when I'm hunting I always seem to buy some kind of fruity gum probably because I think (oh the deer would like this sweet fruity smell more than mint) but I've never even thought about it or why I do that. I never chew fruity gum it's always mint for me Anyday of the year besides when I'm hunting. But I mean there is mint in the woods too? Would deer be more use to mint smell or be interested or alert with a fruity smell? But also No deer will probably even be close enough to pick you off by your breath.. Right? So Does chewing gum become a factor when hunting?

I soak my gum in doe urine before chewing it.

Thats to risky for me I don't want the bucks tracking me down. So i go for the cover scent of fox urine.

Could take it a step further and offer some to the deer (doe or fox urine flavored) at the first scrape to munch on while strolling to the next scrape or field.

I do not chew gum while hunting.
(regardless of whatever good flavor Coots recommends!)
I'm an active enough person and I'm afraid that I'd keep right on chewing when I was having a stare down at 7 yards.

As long as you have your Scent-Lok and Ozonics going, it doesn't matter.... Sorry I could not resist. They actually make gum that is meant to cover the odor in your mouth. I tried it once and it tasted poor and chewed worse.

I literally laughed out loud at that. Nice.

Actually your breath is one of the odors that give us away the most. Chewing gum could help to mask that. Not sure on the flavor or how deer with react to fruity versus minty.

Clorets mint flavor. Works for me and the deer. Chewing gum reduces the amount of water I need to drink while in the stand.

I dip wintergreen snuff. Used to spit in bottle. I just spit on the ground or side of tree now.

Not terrible but not great either. Plus it almost disappears after a bit.

Yes because I'm a smoker so I use nicotine gum to keep the shakes to a minimum.

I have used this and it is good. I chew basic wintergreen or spearmint most of the time. If a deer has noticed it, I haven't seen it. If the wind is in your favor, I don't think it matters. People eat in the stand, so i don't see where chewing gum should matter much.
