I'm going to check my trail cams tonight after work. It's a little early but 1 I will not be able to make it this weekend. And 2 I can't wait any more. I will upload some when I get back going to keep my fingers crossed that we have some good ones

I hope so too. There is nothinng like looking at your tral cam pics. I took all of mine down for the season. I'll put them back up in Jan to see what deer made it through the season.

Hope you have some awesome news and pics to show off when you get them.

A piece of advise on checking cams. While they area an excellent scouting tool, I see and hear of too many abusing them by checking them too often and IMO, at the wrong time of day. I know, its hard to do and I used to check mine weekly and at the worst possible times, usually evenings after work when a lot of deer were on the move to feeding areas.

I just put some cams out a week ago and will probably check them and replace cards next week, giving the area a two week sit. I am going to move those cams to different areas and not touch them again until our first day of season (Oct 1 here) leaving them in the woods for a good month.

I simply don't like checking them often as season approaches because I don't want to start spooking deer in the area. Once season is in, I try to plan my cam checking around the stands I sit, replacing cards as I go to or from a stand in the area.

Of course ANY checking of trailcams requires a scent free approach to minimize your presence as much as possible.

I check mine once a week and could check them everyday it all depends on where your cameras are and only you know that. I drive my truck or 4-wheeler to them I don't worry about scent and have plenty of pics of mature bucks and bucks on my wall to know what I can get away with. If you want to check your cameras go check them if you bump a deer big deal he will be back if you have everything he needs on your property. To me running cameras is supposed to be fun not a job. To those of you who take it that seriously and can wait 3-4 weeks to check them :hail:. I will check them twice the week before season trying to know where to sit opening weekend :D

As you commented on one of my post a while back when some guys were telling me not to check mine as often as I did and I listened to you and checked it when I wanted too which was as much as every three days. I have some great pics too. We are in the woods around here on ATV's almost daily, we log some durring the summer months and they walk right down our driveway so we can get by with it here. If you have human activity in the way of farmers and equipment on a regular basis, I believe you can check them when ever you want. On the other hand, if this is not normal, I would leave them out a little longer. I took mine down just because I got what I wanted and enough data to know when they were coming through and which way they were going. That was my objective and thats all I needed. I will stay away from my stand sets and mineral station for the next 23 days. I can wait that long.

Oh and the day I put the cam out was the first pic of my target buck. There were two other times he was on camera and both were days I was there just later in the evening/night.

I think Im going to back out and let them sit for two weeks and see if that helps any.. It makes me sick bc I was sure I would have a few buck. O well thats part of this great game we all play.
